Over the past few months, I've been frustrated with #etsy . Not only because of the fees--a 20 cent listing fee, a 5% transaction fee, a 5% shipping fee...that's over 10% revenue I'm losing--but also because they keep adding more and more fees like the advertising fees. I've never made more than $10,000 in sales on Etsy, so I could opt out--but for those who have made over $10,000, they don't have a choice to opt out. They will be paying a 12% fee every year and if they made $10,000, that would be $120. Makers work for hours and hours, and they don't deserve to have Etsy steal their hard-earned money. I searched yesterday for a place to have a shop that offered very few fees and thankfully have found it. #freewebstore offers websites hosted by them, even has a cart built into the website, and the only fee I'll pay is 2.9% + 30 cents per sale since I'm using #stripe . You can even sign up for a newsletter that will keep you updated on the latest additions to my shop! I've even noticed an increase in visitors compared to my etsy shop--on the website in the past 24 hours, I've had 154 visitors. On Etsy, I had eight.
