A/N: Damn, I canât believed you got shadowbanned too- letâs hope they will respond to you as quickly as possible, I have yet to hear from my end. Take care!!!
Amaya stood in shock over the events from yesterday. âHuh⊠to think you too are in the shadows. You really are in a pickle, Ruki.â she muttered to herself as she stepped towards Ruki and sat next to him, just a few inches away so they wouldnât touch.
âWell to be fair, me and my sisters are residing somewhere else to wait for things to clear up on our end.â Amaya pondered, a finger pressed to her lips.
Fumbling with her bag, Amaya carefully withdrew two books covered in a plastic bag. âSo while we wait for the day of retribution for both of us how about I read with you? Here, this one is called Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa, itâs really nice.â
It was dark but you could still see a faint outline of a moth as Amaya let out a small huff out her lips, yet it disappeared just as quickly. âLetâs hope that this is merely temporary and that this shadow can be lifted before Christmas.â Amaya smiled, waving a poetry book in her hands, showing the book sheâs going to read.
It was called âThe witch doesnât burn in this oneâ by Amanda Lovelace.
âYouâŠâ the Vampire began, somewhat surprised to see that he wasnât alone, âyouâre here as well, I see. Well, I suppose there are worse people I could be stuck with. Only a joke, of course. As eccentric as you are, Iâm pleased to see you, Amaya. Though I canât possibly think of why we would be exiled to some umbral and dreary place such as this.âÂ
For a moment, he nearly had to stifle a chuckle seeing that Amaya learned her lesson from last time and maintained a respectable distance. The eldest Mukami certainly despised sudden touch, but he abhorred containment even more than any unsolicited contact. A way to escape this place occupied all his thoughts, from leaving unscathed to ensuring the safety of the pureblood before him.Â
âAh, thatâs right. My brothers must be worried for my whereabouts right about now⊠How troublesome. I can only assume your sisters might be rather indifferent. Vampires like the Sakamakis were never known for their strong family bonds, after all. Thatâs where my brothers and I excel above the rest,â he smirked, glancing down at the rummaging of her bag. âAt least you came prepared. Sweet Bean PasteâI canât say Iâve read it, but Iâve certainly heard of it. It looks like Iâm in for a treat.â
Genuine enthusiasm amidst the flood of worry suffused his chest as Amaya revealed the book to him. Given the darkness that shrouded them, Ruki internally thanked his supernatural sight. Reading in the shadows, albeit somewhat of a hindrance, wouldnât have any dire effects on his eyes.
âChristmasâŠ? Thatâs far too long from here. No, I intend to escape before Halloween if weâre discussing frivolous human traditions. We havenât the time to wasteâŠâ he sighed indignantly. âGood grief⊠You are awfully patient and understanding about this, Amaya. Doesnât it upset you? As eager as I am to read a new book if itâll help us while away the time, I canât just sit by and allow this to happen to us. Itâs mortifying. In any case, the book youâre holding seems quite interesting. If weâre still confined here by the time we finish, Iâd like to trade books with you once Iâm done with Sukegawaâs work.â
đ§©Â Oh dear, I hope yours gets resolved ASAP. :( Us shadowbanned people have to stick together, hahaha. Thank you so much for sending Amaya to him, he may be stubborn but he actually really appreciates her company during these hard times. Also maybe Iâm awful for laughing at this, but I think itâs cute how theyâre like⊠âconfinedâ together, HAHAHA. What a great way to bond đ but in all seriousness, I hope for the best for you and I as well as anyone else affected by this. đ§©
