Katelyn was born without a fully-formed left hand. Her family contacted the Jocelyn H. Lee Innovation Lab to investigate 3D-printed prosthetics, and HCPL staff and volunteers worked with the family to fabricate a hand based on the "Unlimbited Arm" designed by members of the e-NABLE Community. Special thanks to JHLIL volunteers Michael Craig and Robert Bannon for their time, talent and resources, and to the Friends of Freeman Library for filament donations and for their continued support of the makerspace at the Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library.
