James McLeish Reid (born 29 December 1961) is the lead vocalist for the band Jesus and Mary Chain, which he formed with his older brother and guitarist William Reid. The band released six studio albums before splitting in 1999 the band reformed in 2007. Reid has started the band Freeheat with members of Jesus and Mary Chain they did several tours and released an EP they split in 2003. In 2005, Reid released his first solo single and released a follow up in 2006. Jesus and Mary Chain has been featured in films and television. Jim plays a small but important role in alternative rock. I was able to see Jesus and Mary Chain last year they put on an excellent show.

Freeheat - Don’t Look Back
Freeheat are a band formed by Jim Reid and Ben Lurie of The Jesus and Mary Chain and Romi Mori and Nick Sanderson of The Gun Club.
Jim Reid (born 29 December 1961) is the lead singer for the for the post punk band Jesus And Mary Chain with his older brother William. The band is best known for Jim’s clever lyrics and the almost fuzzy sounding music. Jim briefly formed Freeheat with former members Jesus And Mary Chain they toured a bit then went their separate ways. Jim had a solo career and released two singles. Jesus And Mary Chain recently started touring again and I was able to see them this summer.When. Jim isn’t on tour he spends time with his wife and daughters.
