Something I haven’t mentioned yet is that the Inky Riders are allies of the Octarians. There’s a reason I was pumped for splet after the Octo Expansion trailer. The Inky Riders live in an underground district like they showed in the trailer. They know how the Octarians live.

Commander Gul’s grandfather spent his time after the Great Turf War helping Octarians get back on their feet. He continued that work for the rest of his life. His grandson admired him so much that he took his name and continued Octarian(?) aid after he passed away. (It’s like Gul never left them.) The Commander gave up everything he had in Inkopolis to do this. He couldn’t stand living in a time where Inklings thought all Octarians were evil. That mindset was even worse in his grandfather’s time.

Eventually, Commander Gul got others to join his cause. There’s definitely change coming to Inkopolis..!
