Whether it happens or not, the crap they did doesn't change anything. As a Tech Jacket fan, I've been waiting for this guy for years, and this is the garbage we got. The funny thing is, people who don't even know who Tech Jacket is come in and comment things like "Ah this isn't even a problem" or "Not serious" It's hilarious that they think they can comment on this character without even reading the damn comics. What they did is the biggest nonsense I've ever seen in my life. Young Nolan didn't exist in the comics, and the additions really did fit the target they were aiming for, just like Kirkman said. They managed to surprise fans—but Tech Jacket? Just a pit of crap. I'm only going to watch the Invincible series now to see the state of the variants in season 5, and I'll drop it after Mohawk's final scene. It's so obvious that Tech Jacket was changed because there were literally no female characters in the big fight team, and Eve was barely shown this season. All of his scenes were erased for nothing. Also the new female character is like a damn self-insert (Zoe AND Zoey WAOWWWW) bought with money, even sharing the same name as her voice actress. And she's a Zionist. Kirkman literally ruined all his art for money. I will never forget what they did to Tech Jacket. Don't take my words here as hate aimed at you—this is just me being filled with rage from seeing a character I've waited years for get trashed. What Kirkman and Amazon are doing right now is literally dividing the fans. There's not a single logical reason in Tech Jacket's story for changing him into a female—just fan service and more money. And ofc like always, all the money goes to the voice actors, not the animation. PERFECT.
Btw they turned Tech Jacket into complete fan service for horny people. Changing such a perfect character and supposedly creating a new one is just nonsense. At least if they had treated Tech Jacket fans with respect and taken us seriously—but they didn't even do that.
Here's a new thought that just came to me. Tech Jacket being made female has nothing to do with misogyny—anyone thinking that is honestly funny. They're changing a character you grew up with. Damn it. And if I don't even like his design in the show, does that make us anti-artist? No. There's no misogyny here. We're just angry and disappointed that our favorite character was changed.
