On Sunday I had my friend Ryan Robert’s name on my jersey as I ran the @nycmarathon From Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens, to Manhattan, the Bronx and right through Central Park, everyone was yelling "Go Ryan!" "Go Roberts!" And when I say everyone, I mean someone yelled Ryan's name every 50 feet or so for the entire 26.2 miles. Here on the final stretch of the race, all I could hear was “Go Ryan!” all along 59th street. Ryan passed away too soon, but on Sunday he was cheered throughout all five boroughs and I couldn’t help but smile the entire race. Day 4 of #nycvacation ... Started the day by heading over to Central Park to visit the marathon pavilion so I could check my time against that of legendary Fred Lebow—founder of the #nycmarathon and namesake for #fredsteam. Then did some sightseeing at the #worldtradecenter memorial and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge before celebrating yesterday’s run in true Minnesota fashion by heading over to @circabrewingco for some #craftbeer. #1 day until the #nycmarathon ... And day 2 of #nycvacation It started off with some free pizza and a sweet pair of @vans (along with a new sweatshirt, which I NEEDED because it got chilly), and then ended with the @fredsteammskcc banquet and a walk through Times Square. 3 days until the #nycmarathon ... And time to pack. Flying out later today, so most importantly, gathering up my running gear first.
