clawing my way back to healthier day-to-day choices. For me, that usually involves dropping breakfast, and breaking a longer overnight fast with a healthy Japanese-style brunch (steamed rice, steamed veggies, simple protein like eggs or fish, and miso soup). If I do that for a few weeks, I always start to feel better as my hormones level back out.
point is, I made miso soup this morning and Baby. Lost. Her. Mind. She loved it.
my ten-stage three-decade plan to get my child to move to rural Japan and renovate an abandoned farm house and win over the local geriatric village weirdos and let me live with them for six months out of the year is one step closer to completion
got a Hawks blorbo tee from eBay for funsies, wore it today
Baby repeatedly pointed to Hawks and said "Daddy," which isn't a surprise, since she often uses "Daddy" as a general word for any friendly-looking man
what was a surprise: at dinner, she pointed to Hawks, then to her actual Daddy, as if emphasizing, no really, she does mean that kind of Daddy. She even counted them out for us. "One... Two... Daddy!" and clapped.
And partner and I were like. Ha ha Hmm. You still can't fly, kid.
Why is my toddler holding this berry like she’s a Caravaggio saint pointing to her murderer?
first day of toddler day care. absolutely surreal to sleep in for a full night's rest, and then, upon waking, having several hours with which to do... nothing the fuck at all

This is far from decided, but I’ve been thinking about getting pregnant again, soon. We always talked about two kids, and the longer I wait the harder it’ll probably get, at my age. Now-ish feels do-able for a lot of reasons, and I’ve got two pregnant women in my life which makes me wanna add to the cohort.
What keeps me from jumping is just fear. Fear that I’ll lose the progress I’ve made, that I can’t handle it, that a second child will somehow be bad, actually? And of course. You know. The world.
But then Baby cuddles with me to watch another Bluey episode and like, this show is happy sibling propaganda and I’m falling for it so hard you guys
Baby has discovered Bluey. Hilariously, this only happened because the cheapest toilet seat adaptor came in two options: Minnie Mouse (girl?) or Bluey (boy??) and she chose the blue(y) one. After that, she started asking to watch “doggies.”
We try to keep the TV off most of the time, but with her being sick (and both of us being exhausted) this week, the doggies have been helping out a bit.
I just play whatever free compilations I find on YouTube. Do the episodes always just… randomly end? Abruptly? Like… mid sentence? It’s very weird.
Other than that, cute doggies
