After 4 days of recuperation from the Variety Hitmakers Brunch I ventured out on a mission to get my Freak on! I’m under the impression that Pete Davidson and John Goodman among other cast members gathered to launch The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers animated series on Tubi and Fred Segal on Sunset. Gilbert Shelton the originator of the legendary counterculture comic is the inspiration of the new animated series. I met Gilbert at SXSW in 2013. Of course, once I saw the Shutterstock i@ages of the event of was jealous and inspired. I was totally inspired to visit the pop-up at Fred Segal. Honestly, I was beyond excited. I had selfies and gifts on my mind. It is a selfie paradise. I selfied in every imaginable place and chuckled to myself at all the absurdist dope humor. Then I shopped. I shopped like it was Black Friday! I’m going back to shop again! The pop-up is a great installation that focuses on the key iconic things that made the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers so fun - the stoner couch, giant doobies, magic mushroom and various late 60s psychedelic counterculture.
