#frederick charming

—I love what’s going on with Princess Abigail. I’m very pleased that she’s not played as the victim in her and Charming’s relationship, who has no clue what’s going on and has no future besides crying over Charming.

—Frederick’s manner of near-death is so tragic. Getting accidentally turned into gold by his would’ve-been father-in-law is just awful.

—Abigail’s gold outfit is so pretty.

—I may not get over Siren Ginnifer Goodwin any time soon.

—As much as I like the dynamic between Abigail and Charming in the fairytale world, their relationship in the “real” world sucks. I’m supposed to be rooting for Charming, but he’s being such a weenie that it’s hard to. Also, I need me some “real” world Frederick. Kathryn deserves better.

—On the other hand, I feel very sorry for Snow. She did have an affair with Charming, but she also did try to do the wrong thing and in the end, she was also betrayed by Charming.

—All of that being said, I do really adore the way Abigail and Charming’s relationship has turned out in the fairytale world. Charming learns Abigail doesn’t want to marry him either? “No problem, have a good life sis.” Charming learns Abigail’s true love got accidentally turned into gold by Midas? “That sucks, what magic have you tried to fix things?” The one thing Abigail hasn’t tried that might actually work could involve Charming’s death? “Hey, it’s no bother, lemme just jump into this siren-infested lake real quick and get some magic water.” In the fairytale world, Charming is a pretty cool guy.

—Thank goodness Frederick was restored to living status. One (1) happy ending has been allowed to happen.

—Why did the s u s writer steal and then treat Henry’s storybook? Did he create it in the first place? Was he trying to alter the stories?

—Oh, yeah, we found out the s u s writer’s name is August Booth…can I call him Auggie?

—DWARVES HATCH FROM EGGS?

—The dwarf lore is actually pretty cool. I love the axes that reveal the dwarves’ names.

—Grumpy’s backstory is terribly sad. Watching that was comparable to be poked repeatedly in the heart with a rusty screw. When his “Dreamy” ax broke and he became Grumpy, I almost cried.

—The Miner’s festival was a fun little thing. It was pretty fly when Grumpy destroyed the electrical box to sell candles for those nuns, too.

—Red Riding Hood being the wolf was basically the last thing I expected. It was delightfully tragic, although that episode was a bit bloodier than I would’ve preferred.

—Red and Snow’s cloaks are both extremely pretty.

—I like that Red chose Granny’s diner over working for the police. She picked what she loved over what she was more easily-suited for, kudos to her.

—Red’s eye makeup is always on point. And most of her clothes in the “real” world look pretty wearable, too.

—Oh, yeah, and there was a human heart in a box. Fun!

—Snow being accused of murdering Kathryn (and putting her heart in a box) was pretty out of left field. I mean, the real criminal’s got to be the Evil Queen, because hearts are kind of her thing, but I wonder how anyone will be able to prove it.

—I want Red and Snow to be besties in the “real” world; they seem like they were pretty good friends in the fairytale world. Like, they should have some kind of platonic soulmates deal going on (which is an underrated trope, imo).
