OUATÂ Thoughts Pt.6--Episodes 13-15
I have watched through S1E15; spoilers DNI. Also, spoiler warning for those further behind than I am.
âI love whatâs going on with Princess Abigail. Iâm very pleased that sheâs not played as the victim in her and Charmingâs relationship, who has no clue whatâs going on and has no future besides crying over Charming.
âFrederickâs manner of near-death is so tragic. Getting accidentally turned into gold by his wouldâve-been father-in-law is just awful.
âAbigailâs gold outfit is so pretty.
âI may not get over Siren Ginnifer Goodwin any time soon.
âAs much as I like the dynamic between Abigail and Charming in the fairytale world, their relationship in the ârealâ world sucks. Iâm supposed to be rooting for Charming, but heâs being such a weenie that itâs hard to. Also, I need me some ârealâ world Frederick. Kathryn deserves better.
âOn the other hand, I feel very sorry for Snow. She did have an affair with Charming, but she also did try to do the wrong thing and in the end, she was also betrayed by Charming.
âAll of that being said, I do really adore the way Abigail and Charmingâs relationship has turned out in the fairytale world. Charming learns Abigail doesnât want to marry him either? âNo problem, have a good life sis.â Charming learns Abigailâs true love got accidentally turned into gold by Midas? âThat sucks, what magic have you tried to fix things?â The one thing Abigail hasnât tried that might actually work could involve Charmingâs death? âHey, itâs no bother, lemme just jump into this siren-infested lake real quick and get some magic water.â In the fairytale world, Charming is a pretty cool guy.
âThank goodness Frederick was restored to living status. One (1) happy ending has been allowed to happen.
âWhy did the s u s writer steal and then treat Henryâs storybook? Did he create it in the first place? Was he trying to alter the stories?
âOh, yeah, we found out the s u s writerâs name is August BoothâŚcan I call him Auggie?
âDWARVES HATCH FROM EGGS?
âThe dwarf lore is actually pretty cool. I love the axes that reveal the dwarvesâ names.
âGrumpyâs backstory is terribly sad. Watching that was comparable to be poked repeatedly in the heart with a rusty screw. When his âDreamyâ ax broke and he became Grumpy, I almost cried.
âThe Minerâs festival was a fun little thing. It was pretty fly when Grumpy destroyed the electrical box to sell candles for those nuns, too.
âRed Riding Hood being the wolf was basically the last thing I expected. It was delightfully tragic, although that episode was a bit bloodier than I wouldâve preferred.
âRed and Snowâs cloaks are both extremely pretty.
âI like that Red chose Grannyâs diner over working for the police. She picked what she loved over what she was more easily-suited for, kudos to her.
âRedâs eye makeup is always on point. And most of her clothes in the ârealâ world look pretty wearable, too.
âOh, yeah, and there was a human heart in a box. Fun!
âSnow being accused of murdering Kathryn (and putting her heart in a box) was pretty out of left field. I mean, the real criminalâs got to be the Evil Queen, because hearts are kind of her thing, but I wonder how anyone will be able to prove it.
âI want Red and Snow to be besties in the ârealâ world; they seem like they were pretty good friends in the fairytale world. Like, they should have some kind of platonic soulmates deal going on (which is an underrated trope, imo).
âI really hope Kathryn isnât actually dead, because Iâve come to really like her in the fairytale world, and Iâd like to see more of her. (I guess maybe that happy ending has been rescinded.)
