I used to love 💗 shooting #colorinfraredfilm 🎞️ inspired by the 60’s-70’s photographers like #elliottlandy. There were incredible examples of the #IR images in my #timelifelibraryofphotography books 📖… Which were basically my photo school. Found at a yard sale .. The band here were called #frausdots with @brent_rademaker and #MichelleLoiselle. I love this record. 80’s dark wave synth pop inspired I’d say. Maybe someone else has a better interpretation id@love to hear it @congo_hammer was in on this project @subpop brought me in to do their photos. We did so many amazing set ups I’m going to post more from this few day shoot. Brent and Michelle really were so excited to be creative and had such a vision. I think it was the first time a band and I really worked on a creative direction together.? This song takes me to a place I can’t name or come close to explaining. It’s somewhere in my head & heart and nowhere near at the same time. I wish the #Frausdots had made more music. There’s an ethereal happy gloominess to their music. And the songs “Soft Light” & “Without You I’m Nothing” by #Placebo really capture it. “I think Ted Leo and the Pharmacists’ ‘Where Have All the Rude Boys Gone?’ might be the Best Song I’ve Ever Heard In My Entire Life.” Those were my exact words when TL/Rx came into my life via a 2003 Christmas mix from my friend Becky. Granted, I’m hyperbolic like that. But the band became one of my Top 10 favorites, and remain so to this day. And this shirt, well, it is no less than #2 on my list of all-time most beloved rock shirts. The versatility of the black and white color scheme, along with the clean lines of the TL/Rx Hearts of Oak logo, ensures that I’ve been able to wear this thing in every imaginable setting except maybe a wedding (and I do mean maybe…I was drunk a lot of the time). For some reason this is also a staple of my work wardrobe. Maybe I think the bastardized Rod of Asclepius makes it look medical, and therefore official? Like nobody’s gonna notice that martini glass?
