stella, (cis woman, 23, 5’5, she/her) is a HUGE overachiever and perfectionist who constantly works her head off to be better than the best she can be with her work. she went to college as a psychology major, hoping to work at a crisis helpline for individuals struggling with depression and similar. after MONTHS, like literal months, of training, she now works at a helpline center part time. ironically, she struggles with the same issues she aims to prevent in others, but she cares more about the others than herself. she already graduated college, but she’s going back for MORE education for psych. she’s the sister of robinne and eunice (yes, both of them). she cares sincerely for her friends and family, and she takes her work extremely seriously, incorporating her knowledge of psychology into every aspect of her life. she’s very closed off about her personal struggles, and often presses into others’ issues first, which often can be annoying for others. she is highly idiosyncratic, altruistic, very articulate, and she often feels envious of others and their experiences, sometimes taking things her own achievements for granted. this also causes her to act impulsively and sometimes do things without even considering consequences. she’s closest with her siblings (more so robinne), and yuri. she sees the two of her siblings as huge inspirations in her life, despite being the middle out of them both. yuri… she sees her as a friend-ish. maybe more ? 👀

my favorite bird is the red necked phalarope— aka the phalaropus lobatus. now THAT name may sound familiar !!! hehe

i wrote a whole thing but it is now lost to time… so IM REWRITING IT 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

now phalaropes actually have three species, but i’m specifically asking about red necked phalaropes. they are a type of shorebird, that of which is native to areas ranging from parts of alaska, or coasts of south america and even africa ! their environment is really mostly prairie wetlands or subarctic and arctic tundras. they’re known for their unique ability to create whirlpools in the water, which allows them to better catch their prey. that of which is small aquatic invertebrates, some specific types being brine shrimp and plankton. the circles they create on the water's surface actually makes a sort of vortex that brings their food to the top. i find this real neat. it reminds me of a siren,,, which is #AWESOME ! one thing i also love love LOVE about them is their reversed sex roles. for one, the females are actually much more vibrant during breeding season, and have beautifully colored feathers. the males, while also beautiful, are very cool looking too ! for birds, it’s almost UNHEARD OF for females to be more colorful than the males (take cardinals for example). while this is really cool, another thing is actually that male phalaropes actually take on the role that most other female birds do ! this means that the males are in charge of incubation and nurturing and caring for the young chicks, though they are in fact precocial (which means that they basically care for themselves soon after they hatch, with just some protection). the males also perform certain methods to lure away potential predators. the females leave soon after laying their eggs, and compete with other females. one other neat detail about the fellers is that they’re actually surprisingly approachable and kind to people ! while they aren’t affectionate per se, they commonly lack a natural fear of humans— a very common fear for birds— so they end up allowing people to get quite close. they don’t exactly “like” people, but it’s more of a comfortable tolerance. they’re also very cute and small and i love them like. a lot. i wanna give them a hug. they are a reason i remain positive, because one day i may see one ! and that would be a wonderful experience. yes, it would be a wonderful experience.
