Her job was hard. The hours were long, and the job was tough. But Alice adored it. She adored being an auror. Crime fighting was her passion. Making the world she lived in a better place was something she adored doing. It made all the hard work worth it. It was probably a good thing really, considering all that she had sacrificed to get to this point. To Alice it was worth it though. She had never looked back since the day her parents disowned her. Sure, those training years had been tough. But Alice was happy.
She knew a lot of that happiness came from Frank Longbottom. Her boyfriend. It still felt kind of weird to call him that. She liked it, but it still felt weird. She couldnât pinpoint when her feelings for Frank had gone from mere friends, but that near death accident sheâd had really had make her aware that she wanted to be more than just Frankâs work colleague. They were still working things out, but he made her happy.Â
They were planning on hanging out tonight and getting some take out. She had been looking forward to it all day. So, for once she was literally ready to leave work on time for once. âHey handsomeâ She teased, grinning at Frank as she made her way over to his cubicle. She didnât come to his area of the auror office too much, mostly because he really distracted her. âReady to come home?â Or you know. To her place anyway.

Whilst Alice adored being an auror, and was immensley proud of herself, she had to admit that she loved being at home too. When she had fallen pregnant she had been horrified, for a few days anyway. They were in the middle of a war, and she hadnât even been married to Frank. Sure, they were engaged, but they hadnât planned to get married until after the war had ended. That plan had gone out of the window when sheâd found herself pregnant. She hadnât wanted a shot gun wedding, and as far as she was concerned, she was already fully comitted to Frank. But theyâd gotten married quickly anyway. For most of her pregnancy she hadnât been sure, but the moment Nevilel ahd been placed in her arms, she had known he was meant to have been born then.
Having Neville had home made her just want to be home all the time. So she loved days like today, when she got to spend the entire day wit her little boy. Part of her wished Frank could be here too, but she was secretly glad to get some alone time with her little boy. She loved spending time as a family unit, but adored also getting one on one time with Neville.
Currently, she was sat in the two year olds bedroom, reading bedtime stories to him. Frank hadnât gotten home yet, but she hoped he would return in the next 10 minutes or so. She really wanted him to get to say good night to Neville before he had to go to sleep. So, she accioed another book over, and began to read that too
In all honesty the remembrance gala was something that Alice had not wanted to attend. Thinking about the war still was hard for Alice, and the past five years had not been easy. There were still many nights that she woke up with nightmares, and she still struggled to sleep when Frank wasnât there. But she knew that she had to be there. Alice knew people would talk if the Longbottoms didnât attend, and Frank and his father had already been through enough. She wouldnât be the reason why they faced more burdens. The only good thing about the gala was that she was able to dress up, and wear some of her Rosier Jewels for once. The brunette was wary though. The gala was held in her cousinâs house, and she knew in any other circumstance she would not be welcome here.
She had her arm curled through Frankâs, and she just smiled up at her husband. Him being here definetly made things easier, and she was so glad that they had been able to leave Neville with his grandfather. âI hope Neville doesnât cause too much trouble for your dad...â She mused, grinning at Frank. âItâs nice for them to spend some time togetherâ Even if being away from him did make her more anxious. She was also looking forward to spending some quality time with Frank too, even if it was at this stupid gala.
It was no secret that hand to hand combat was one of Aliceâs favourite things. Add wands to that and she loved it ever more. She was pretty confident in her skills, potentially bordering on cocky. But she didnât care. She knew she was good. It frustrated her that she was still so easily under estimated. She had understood when she was still training, but she was a fully qualified auror now. Sure, she was still a rookie, but she was good at what she did. But she was still constantly proving.
She smirked at Frank, stretching her arm out. It was hard sparing with Frank, mostly because the man distracted her way too easily. âOne more round then weâll get coffee?â Sounded like a good deal to her.
where: Room of Requirement
when: September 16th
who: Fabian Prewett & Frank Longbottom ( @agoldenheart )
Fabian didnât think that heâd get bored at a party filled with overflowing alcohol and drunken teenagers but there he was. Granted, he isnât drinking alcohol... and he also isnât one of the aforementioned teenagers but he figured that all the ruckus that was bound to happen tonight would at least keep him occupied. Turns out that there really wasnât much to worry about. Sure, there were wizards and witches who drank a little too much but they were always accompanied by at least one friend. There were also people doing things in some dark corners but Fabian would rather not involve himself. Heâs not even going to dare and look at them
He felt a wave of relief when he saw a friendly face who didnât look like they were drunk or preoccupied. Fabian approached Frank who was just hanging around the drinks table. âHey. Enjoying the party?â

St. Mungoâs Spell Damage Ward
{ @frankxlongbottom }
Augusta had long ago made peace with the fact that Frank would always be right in the midst of this war. An Auror trainee, a member of the Order. His life was always moving from one danger to the next, one battle to another. And he was good at it, too. She had seen him in battle. It had been terrifying and heart stopping and anxiety inducing for her, but it had been natural for him. He had a calm rationality about him in battle--he was the last person on that field who was going to lose his head or let his temper get the best of him. He was so much like his father.
It had been hard for her, at first. She had joined the Order before him and absolutely forbade Albus Dumbledore from approaching Frank, but he hadnât listened to her. Then, one day, after Frank left Hogwarts, he had showed up at an Order meeting. Augusta had been livid. Training to be an Auror was one thing, but the Order? It doubled the danger, made the target on his back even bigger. It had taken a lot for him to talk her down, and even longer for her to make her peace with it. Seeing him in battle that first time, as hard as it had been, had made things easier. She was more likely to get herself killed than he was. He would fine.
She had long ago made peace with it, or so she thought. But as she stared at him in his bed at St. Mungoâs, pleading with the healers attending him to ignore him and focus on Alice (as if there werenât already a team surrounding her down the hall), the storm of emotions raging through Augusta were a pretty good indication that she wasnât as okay with it as she had thought.Â
Augusta moved forward, closer to her sonâs bedside, putting a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him. âFrank Longbottom! Calm down!â Her voice was strong, adopting the same tone it always had when he was in trouble for something growing up. It was the same tone that had always given him pause before, so hopefully it would do the same now. âAlice is being cared for. Iâm supervising the team. What you need to do is calm down and let these healers take care of you.â
The news had reached her ears swiftly and Isis couldnât help but rush to put together her least conspicuous outfit. Riots were her favorite and if she was given the opportunity she enjoyed joining in or berating those that would protest. She was giddy as she locked her flat and then charmed it to ward off any that would attempt to break in even with the door so obviously locked.
Her footsteps were quick as she moved to the back alley, apparating only a few streets short of where the protest was to take place. She could hear the calls of the protesters and a frown made itâs way to her features. Of course it would be a protest for mudblood rights. They deserved none, in her own opinion. Things should of course be in the favor of those with pureblood, those who did not mingle with the worthless muggles. Simply hearing the chants that rang out through the air set her mood lower that it had been when sheâd first arrived.
A smile smile appeared, however, when she noticed the group that was already beginning to form about them. Surely there would be others that agreed with her, that would rally to her cause and give those who would stand against them nothing but trouble. Blending in with the surrounding crowd, Isis grinned as she looked over at the man next to her, watching him for a moment before saying anything. ââBloody ridiculous, yeah?â
Being Head Girl had many perks, thought Lily usually did her best not to overuse them. Â She didnât often sneak out after hours, claiming to be on rounds or something when she wanted to meet someone out of bounds. Â She didnât take or give points in revenge or pick specifically on people she disliked while turning a blind eye to ones she did. Â But one thing she did do every so often was slip down to the kitchens when she couldnât sleep. Â When sheâd lived in the Gryffindor tower, sheâd just crawl into bed with Marlene or sit in the window seat but neither of those options worked for her now. Â
So instead she made her way down to the kitchens for a mug of hot chocolate and a better chance she wouldnât be interrupted by James or Sirius in their common room. Â When she slipped in and had finished greeting the house elves, they pointed to where another student sat, telling her they would bring her drink to her there. Â Lily grinned seeing who had beat her to a midnight snack. Â âBad dreams?â she asked Frank with a smile as she sat opposite him at one of the four long tables that mimicked those in the Great Hall above.
Frank was a creature of habit, his mother had always told him that predictability could get him killedâespecially in the current state of the Wizarding World but he was safely contained in the walls of Hogwarts and frankly, his after curfew ritual of sneaking in to the kitchens for the wondrous stash of ice cream was definitely the least life threatening thing heâd ever do. With a tub of chocolate before him, he was more then content to spend most of the night here. Was he breaking rules? Yes, maybe so but he highly doubted the fact that he was the only one out at this hour. Besides, he needed to think.
There was so much he had to do and so little timeâhe needed the grades required for the Auror program, he needed to control his temper because merlin knew that if another snake referred to him as a blood traitorâhe was going to lose it, he needed to not be sappily in love with his best friend and end up heart broken and most of all, he needed to keep his friends safe. He shoved another spoonful of the icy goodness in to his mouth and nearly fell off the bench when he factored in the female voice. He turned in his spot to face the redhead with a guilty expression, ânoâI just needed to thinkâ he murmured, âif I share this with you, will I be able to get out of detention?â he questioned hopefully as he gestured to the ice cream tub.
Lily had always liked Frank. Â Of the seventh year Gryffindor boys, Frank was the one Lily had been friendly with the longest. Â Theyâd hit it off in first year and that was that as far as Lily was concerned. Â And so her smile was easy as he offered her the bribe. Â âI was never going to give you detention, but if you donât then I have one less person to share my mumâs Halloween cookies with this year,â she said with a smirk, quietly thanking a house elf as it brought her her hot chocolate and, causing her to grin, a spoon. Â She used the spoon to take some of the whipped cream off her drink and then piled some ice cream on top of it, eyes closing happily at the taste. Â
"A penny for your thoughts, then," she said after sheâd swallowed. Â "Or should I offer more since you were willing to risk detention to entertain them?"
"Your mum makes the best cookies" he sighed, a small smile at his lips as he handed the girl the tub of chocolate, "damn Lily, are you trying to land yourself a toothache?" he teased as he shook his head slowly, he thought he had a soft spot for sweets but she could give him a run for his money. "Definitely more, you can repay me in cookies" he grinned as he leaned back against the table, "to be honest, graduation and the aftermath has me on edge" he admitted quietly, "i knowâitâs months away. We have plenty of time but the state of the world outside these walls is just uhâoverwhelming?"Â
"Which is why they work so well for bribes," she said with a satisfied smile as she ate her ice cream. Â "What?" she asked in reference to his teasing, hand covering her full mouth until she swallowed. Â "People eat ice cream with whipped cream all the time," she protested. Â She took another spoonful, still with the whipped cream though this time accompanied by a smug grin before the spoon made itâs way to her mouth, as he spoke. Â She leaned forward on the table as he leaned back. Â Her expression softened as his words hit chords inside of her. Â "No, I get it," she agreed when heâd finished. Â "Itâs scary to think about. We should all be planning futures and careers and I just - sometimes it feels like we wonât have that." Â It was more serious, more poignant, than she had intended and she blamed the late hour and lack of sleep for the words even leaving her mouth.
"Yes, and those people are the first to whine about a tooth ache" he chuckled as he took his own spoon and took a spoonful of whip cream, "Iâm a hypocrite" he chuckled with a wink. "We will" he muttered as he gave her a pointed look, "weâre going to have careersâ a good life. We just might have to fight for it" he murmured with a sigh, he ran his fingers through his hair before leaning forward and propping his chin on the palm of his hand. "What does your future entail, Miss Evans?" he questioned, his curiosity getting the best of him.
She let her jaw drop in mock offense as he stole some of her whipped cream. Â âThief,â she muttered jovially as she took another spoonful. Â His steady optimism was a balm on her worried soul and she forced herself to give a half grin and to try and believe his words. Â She wanted them to be true, after all, and she was a firm believer that if you gave up wanting something, youâd already lost it. Â His question caught her off guard and she considered it for a moment before answering. Â âI wanted to be a healer,â she confessed with something of a sad smile. Sheâd only changed her focus of study this term, deciding that the future she could see would need people to fight for it, not wait on the sidelines to clean up the battles they were not brave enough to join. âAnd to fall madly in love with Prince Charming, of course,â she added, brightening her smile. âAnd what about yours, Mr. Longbottom?â
"Iâve been called worstâLily, sharing is caring. As Headgirl, that should be your priority" he teased as he swiped a bit more of the whip cream before focusing on the ice cream. "Wanted to be?" he repeated, a small frown tugging at his lips, "you would have been lovely at it" he assured the girl before him quietly. Even if things had been differentâbeen peaceful. He was almost sure that heâd still be heading down this path. Being an Auror was honourableâsomething he wouldnât mind devoting his life too. "Your prince charming? Well, lily loveâhe might be under your very nose" he teased softly. "Being an Auror is my first priority and right up thereâit might sound selfish but I want a family. I want to be with someone Iâm in love with. I donât want this war to take that choice away from me" he rambled softly, running a hand through his hair, "It sounds ridiculousâselfish even but uhâ the heart wants what it wantsâright?"
"Iâm not Head Girl right now," she pointed out, using her spoon to gesticulate her point. Â "Else Iâd have to give us both detention and James would never forgive me if I benched one of his Beaters from practice." Â She shrugged as he told her sheâd be a good healer, it was something sheâd more or less put from her mind. Â Not that being an Auror wasnât honorable or anything, the truth was she didnât think sheâd gt that far. Â She knew enough about healing to be useful at that if she needed to be, she was rubbish at defensive or offensive magics, though, and thatâs what she would need the most. Â "Maybe one day I still will be," she allowed, imagining a life after this war was over. Â She grinned at his teasing. Â "I donât know if Iâd exactly call you a prince, Longbottom, though you are charming," she joked back. Â Her smile softened at what he shared, reaching over to place her hand over the one that had just run through his hair, giving it a comforting squeeze. Â "Thatâs not ridiculous at all," she said genuinely. Â "I wish I werenât so scared to want that too," she added, biting her lip. Â
"Jamesâ would definitely not be pleased" he grinned, "but, Marley and Sirius would probably give you hell" he winked, it was an unspoken rule that Sirius and Frank didnât play without one anotherâthe only exception being when one of them was injured. Being benched was definitely not a pleasant way to kick off a season. "Heyâwoah, I would be honoured love but I was actually referring to James" he teased with a wiggle of his brows. "Despite my occasional irrationality and impulsive behaviour ⌠I value my life far too much to go after you" he chuckled. A soft smile played at his lips as he in return squeezed her hand, "well Lily love, the fact that youâre scared proves how much you want it. We shouldnât let anyone take away our choice⌠if you want somethingâfight for it!"
"Marlene doesnât scare me," she said with bravado, not adding that she would certainly thing twice about getting on Siriusâ bad side when it came to Quidditch. Â At his mention of James, Lily felt the tell tale - and now familiar - heat of a blush creeping into her cheeks. Â "I am certain I have no idea what youâre talking about," she insisted, suddenly far more interested in her spoonful of ice cream than she was in this line of inquiry. Â "But I do believe that. Â Alice would never forgive you if you did," she replied impishly, repaying fire with fire. She had her theories about Alice and Frank and she wasnât above using them to get out of talking about James. Â
"Thatâs bollocks and you know it" he smirked, "Marlene and Sirius are dangerous on their own but togetherâtheyâre a bloody nightmare" he chuckled. "Lily loveâ are you blushing?" he teased as he stole a bit more of the ice cream. "Alice? Alice Fortescue?â he repeated trying his best to keep calm and not blurt out every passing thought when it came to the blonde. "Lily, sheâs my mateâmy best mate. Nothing more, nothing less!"Â
"It is not!" she insisted. Â Sheâd agree with him on the Sirius bit but she was adamant that she wasnât afraid of Marlene. Â Sheâd been joined at the hip too long to be afraid of her, even if she was in cahoots with Sirius. Â She ducked her head as he pointed out her blush, resisting the urge to pluck a marshmallow from her drink to chuck at him. Â "I am doing no such thing," she insisted, denying it far too intensely for her denial to do any good. Â His matching denial of Alice fueled her on. Â "You know what they say," she pointed out as if quoting a lesson. Â "True love is friendship set on fire. Â Maybe all that happy future of yours is lacking is a little spark?"Â
"Alrightâcome on, care to tell me whatâs going on between you and dear James?" he questioned, a small smile stretching at his lips. He adored teasing the redhead but all jokes aside, he was indeed curious. "Somethings are meant to be the way there are Lilyâsheâs lovely. More lovely then I would care to admit but like you saidâsheâs my friend. Once you step into that territoryâyou canât ever go back!â
"Nothing!" she answered all too quickly, her smile fading as his stretched.  Nothing if you didnât count the way heâd ignored her for a week and the way sheâd ended that by kissing him in his bloody dorm room in the middle of a fight.  No.  Nothing at all.  "I mean weâŚ.well heâŚ." she sighed.  "Nothing."  This was less adamant, and sounded more like giving in.  Her smile was soft as they broached the subject of Alice.  "The hope usually is you wouldnât have to go back," she pointed out.  She teased quite a lot but her advice was well intentioned.  She thought Frank and Alice would go quite lovely together, they were already more than halfway there.
"Nothing always means something â come on Lily, you know can trust me. I give you my word that nothing we speak about leaves these walls" he promised as he scooted forward, curious to what had the girl all flustered. "Lily, if she wanted to be with meâshe would have said so within the last six years. She doesnât see me like thatâ am I happy? No. But I would do anything to make her happyâif staying the way that we are accomplishes that âwho am I to change things?"
She didnât answer right away, suddenly very concerned with the marshmallows in her hot chocolate and avoiding Frankâs gaze altogether. âJames and I - kissed,â she finally forced out, the act of which more or less opened the flood gates.  âWell, I kissed him actually.â  Her speech picked up speed a she tried to explain, her words moving quicker than her mind.  âWe were fighting and he saidâŚ.and I just gotâŚand IâŚâ  She sighed, grimacing.  âNothing was easier.  I miss nothing.â Â
"Frank," she began, eyebrow raised a bit at his words.  "if you never told her how you feel in the past six years, why do you think you know so well how she feels?âÂ
"Did you really?" he teased quietly, the information wasnât really new to him. James had beat her to it, he had a feeling that perhaps that was what was wrenching at her. "How did it feel? You look confused but uh, James has that affect on people â I canât really blame you" he grinned as he propped his chin on the palm of his hand. "I justâ I donât want her to think that itâs all or nothing ⌠once I put myself out there, I canât take it back. Even if thereâs a remote possibility that she might feel the same way âI canât risk it. I know, itâs not very Gryffindor of me but, I canât risk it when it comes to her!"
"Donât tease," she all but pleaded, dropping her head to rest on her arms on the table. Â "It felt fantastic," she answered, admitting it for the first time since it happened. Â Her voice was muffled as she was speaking into her folded arms but she refused to look up, to face the conversation she was having. Â At least not until he got snarky about it. Â "Well then you date him," she said with sarcasm as she lifted her head to glare halfheartedly at him. Â
She didnât push the issue, not really. Â If Frank wasnât ready to tell Alice how he felt, that was his call. Â âI think youâre underestimating how much you mean to her,â she did feel the need to add. Â âBut I get the feeling.â
"Iâm sorryâŚIâm sorry" he sighed with an apologetic smile, he couldnât help but sympathize with the girl. He was once a victim to confused feelingsâit was a real eye opener. "Thatâs always a good thing" he grinned, "seeâI would but heâs a bit too masculine for my liking" he chuckled. "I have a better suggestionâ how about you date him? Heâs a decent bloke, appealing on the eyes and well, if he hasnât made it clear over the last six years ⌠heâs mad for you" he winked as he took the mug from the girl and took a small sip. "LilyâI will trying to be open too it and if the opportunity to be with her presents itselfâI will take it" he promised quietly, a small smile playing at his lips.
She appreciated that he stopped teasing when she asked, she had enough of a hard time sorting her feelings through as it was without spending all her energy on trying not to blush.  At his suggestion though, a helpless look crossed her face.  She opened her mouth once or twice to explain before deflating a bit.  âWhat if I do startâŚ.and Iâm notâŚ.what if he changes his mind?â  That was the crux of the problem, really.  Lily had a bad history with people telling her they loved her and then turning their backs on her.  She had little interest in putting herself right back in the line of fire. Â
"I think youâll be pleasantly surprised," she said with a grin, just thinking of the way Alice had been flustered when Lily had mentioned Frank as more than a friend to her before.Â
"Lilyâ thatâs ridiculous" he muttered, "and when I say ridiculousâI donât mean you ⌠the very idea of him changing his mind is ridiculous. Heâs waited for you for so long, do you really think he would toss you aside? Does he seem like that type of bloke?" he questioned, a brow quirked as he took her hands in his. "He adores youâhe has tendencies to be a dolt but he wouldnât have pursued you for so long if you were merely a passing fancy" he promised as he gave her hands a squeeze. "If he hurts youâin any way. I give you my word that I will take my bat to his downstair regions. Ask Siriusâitâs a nightmare" he winked, a smirk at his lips. "You are gorgeous, brilliant and everything he could possibly want in a girl, donât doubt yourself!"Â
She focused with incredible intent on his hands as he spoke, his words doing more to lift her spirits on the matter than she would have liked to admit. Â She was still nervous but his confidence in the matter did more to bolster her than her own self doubts were doing to pull her down. Â That was the thing with Lily. Â She had a habit of believing things about herself as others laid them out easier than if she thought them herself. Â Which is why losing a sister and a best friend already made her not so sure she would live up to all of Jamesâ expectations. Â She couldnât bear to let him get close and then lose him too. Â She had to smile at Frankâs threat to Jamesâ should he hurt her, and thatâs when she was able to look up again. Â âMaybe youâre right,â she said with a soft smile that steadily grew. Â âThank you Frank,â she said, squeezing his hands. Â âDonât you doubt yourself either. Â Any girl would be lucky to have someone like you.â
"Thereâs the smile that I adore" he noted, his own smile widening, "thereâs a really good chance that Iâm rightâyou should see my track record. Iâm nearly always right" he grinned as he let go of her hands and tugged the tub in his direction. "I donât know about thatâIâm a bit too temperamental" he muttered, a sheepish smile at his lips. "So tell me, whatâs your move? Will you tell him you fancy him or did you already have that conversation?"
She rolled her eyes as he proclaimed his wonderfulness, wrapping her now empty hands around her mug and holding it to her lips as she sipped.  âOh, youâre right, you have one flaw.  How could anyone possibly hope to overcome such a handicap,â she teased with good nature.  If anyone knew about having a temper, it was Lily.  And as far as Frank went, there were far more fantastic things about him that balanced him out.  âWell considering when I kissed him I said âthatâs how you tell someone you fancy themâŚâ I think he might already know,â she said, biting her lip as she tried not to smirk.
âHeyâmost people donât really find the quality, temperamental attractive! Some people canât overlook itâ he shrugged, a smile lingering at his lips. âLily Evans, as dar as big gestures goâyou really are a sneaky one. Really, Iâm impressedâ he exclaimed, shaking his head slightly as he peered over at the redhead before him in awe. Lily never seized to surprise him, âwas he able to function after that or did you leave him there gawking? Tell me that he didnât have a heart attack!â he teased with a wiggle of his brows.
"Well it hasnât driven her away yet," she pointed out, unable to resist bringing Alice back into the conversation. Â She had to laugh as he imagined Jamesâ reaction, remembering it herself with a wide smile she couldnât quell. Â "It wasnât so much a big gesture as losing my temper," she confessed. Â "Youâre not the only temperamental one here. Â He all but froze when I did it and I practically ran away. Â Sirius had to remind him to chase after me."
âLilyâ why are you so determined? Not that I mind but uhâwhy Alice? Why pair me up with her, sure I have feelings for her but as far as Iâve come to know ⌠they arenât necessarily mutualâ he muttered as he quirked a brow. âWell, to be honestâI always thought that our of the spur of the moment heâd be the one to make the first move⌠you must have caught him off guardâ he chuckled, shaking his head idly, âif a girl I fancied for quite some time laid one on me ⌠I might have had a heart attack!â
âIâve not paired you up,â she protested, though it wasnât entirely true. Â âIâm just - making an observation. Alice deserves a good man in her life and I think the two of you would be aces together.â Â Not to mention she had seen the way Aliceâs face turned seven shades of red when the idea of dating Frank had been mentioned. Â Frank may not think the feelings were mutual, but Lily had more than a few suspicions. Â âWell he did sort of make the first move,â she said scrunching her nose and looking down at her hot chocolate. Â âHe might have kissed me on the train,â she admitted, adamantly not looking at Frank. Â âSo technically he was first.â
âLily, I am flattered that you think that highly of me and I will definitely keep that in mindâ he murmured, a smile at his lips. âBloody hellâI love you two but merlin, you two are hopelessâ he sighed, shaking his head slowly as he stood up, straightening himself out. âLily, as far as I can tell âheâs completely mad for you and giving it a go with him would definitely not be a mistake, I would spend the entire night convincing you of that but itâs lateâvery lateâ he murmured as his eyes darted to the clock. âCome onâlet me walk you back to your dorms!â
