I just discovered that the genre of animation to which belongs Martin Mystère, Totally Spies, Team Galaxy, Code Lyoko and other french cartoons inspired by the Japanese animation and mangas has in fact, a name. Not often used but still one: “Franime”, or “franimation”.
Not that anyone uses these terms (they only lasted during the 2000s, and I don’t think anybody remember them anymore), but it’s still interesting to know.

Since the monkey-creature keep getting more and more threatening, Josh tries to fight them off with his weapon, some sort of laser-gun.
Trouble is, the gun in question is at his belt.
Trouble is, with his new pear-shaped body, his belt and his waist are now much closer to the ground, and his torso much taller than before.
Result? His bloated, little arms can’t possibly reach the weapon down his enormous fruit body.
And that’s when Josh realizes he is in trouble. Because he recognizes the look in the monkeys’ eyes. They are not angry because he wants to steal their fruits.
They want to eat him because he is now a big, sweet, delicious fruit.
The episode then cuts to the two friends of Josh, who discover his disappearance, identify the seeds in his room as belonging to the fruit of the mysterious planet, and they get there.
Only to find him hiding at the back of the cave. And he grew even more, entering a new stage of transformation, a new stage of grotesque. His body is now definitively the shape of the fruit, his own weight making all of his excess “flesh” drop down to the ground, his arms so bloated they can bend in only a limited way, and his hands now just two balls of jelly with little fingers at the end.
The female friend (I keep forgetting her name) takes Josh’s arms and squeezes it - only to discover that it makes the noise of a fruit being squished, and makes Josh’s finger go up and down, like if his whole arm was filled with jelly. The girl thus makes the joke-remark that now Josh is ripe.
At one point Josh slips on a pile of pink goo (the juice/goo contained in the fruits). He also makes a joke about his fruit-self bruising easily (there is a similar one in the French dub). As a result I wondered for a time if the pink goo was actually getting out of Josh’s body - but no, when you look at the episode, it is clear that he slips in the remnants of a previous fruit feast.

A bit less fortunately for Josh, his small-intelligent friend (Brett) decides that, to escape the monkey faster, he will leave Josh tied up - and simply roll him away. Something Josh is strongly against, but he doesn’t have much choice, and thus gets rolled through the forest.
Josh begins running away from them, but this proves quite difficult, because his new size, girth and weight (added to his legs now being small and stubby) make him quite slow - and running easily tires him. He has to stop frequently to catch his breath and he sweats a lot.
On a different note I really like how they decided to still give him man-boobs and not just make his torso entirely fruit-like. It is fruit like, but with still humans parts here and there. Also, for future reference, Josh’s “manboobs” are the type of manboobs I like in terms of proportion and size.
For the third time, some “upward” pictures of Josh. I really wish we could have seen him standing upward at this stage, but unfortunately he’ll just kept being pushed around.
With the end of the rain, it means the return of the hungry monkeys, and Josh now starts regretting the huge waterdrops.
