Tonight, I settled on watching the criminally-underrated albeit it uneven Amazon Prime adaptation of "The Tick" that ran between 2016 to 2019.

Admittedly, as much of a "nerd" as I may have been all my life, my experience with comic books mainly comes from the numerous adaptations. As soon as publishers and studios realized how lucrative these collaborations could be, the flood gates flew open.

Just bathe in the nostalgia.

Memories unlocked and all that.

Every generation has found a way to bring their heroes off the page.

And there are a lot of options to mine for new "content" - a word I use begrudgingly but with no disrespect. There's just a lot of potential left untapped. Not everything works, but almost everything helps build its fanbase.

That being said, I mainly knew of The Tick from the old Fox animated series. And even then, I really know very little about the source material.

I had forgotten that Fox also attempted their own live-action series in the '00s. I know I watched it, but I just have no memory of it.

It's also worth pointing out that I am a fan of Blank Check with Griffin & David, but I only began listening more frequently over the last few years. I was a bit late to the Griffin Newman party to support the show sooner.

And there's the whole Amazon of it all. The world is complicated.
