Wowie. I guess it's War and Chess is four years old today. Happy birthday, book baby. All's I have to say for myself is that life is funny. This has been an incredible experience, being a traditionally published author. I have learned so much! I'm working on getting a reprint as well as find a publisher for the other three books I have waiting. Two of which are sitting on my kitchen table... I'm going to devour a 2nd hand pile of children's books instead. That sounds fun. I'm a little melancholy because my work is so hard for the public to access but I'm working hard at finding an agent and believing it will get better. Four years ago today.. My life was about to change forever.. From the harsh reality of it finally sinking in at 42+1 weeks that I would be giving birth. (A thought that highly amused me.) The fact I had an A3 Visio diagram showing all eventualities of my 'birthing plan' on hand to give to the midwife did not phase me nor did the fact that despite contracting every 1-2 minutes I locked myself in the bathroom for 15 minutes to ensure that whilst I was giving birth I would not soil myself.. (A pregnancy nightmare of mine) So 9 hours sat in the birthing pool unable to read my kindle (something about health and safety) and having to entertain myself as my attention span was growing incredibly short, I finally gave birth at 13:26 on Saturday 2nd March 2013 to my (not so) little Monkey weighing a surprising 8lbs 6oz.. Some days I wish he was still growing in my tummy, so I could keep him close by and safe from the world we live in. Some nights I find myself snuggling up next to him in his bed as falling asleep to the smell of his hair.. Some days we make bad choices and have big shouty days as a result of it.. Some days we dance in the supermarket because we like the song or laugh uncontrollably at the silly game we've just made up.. Every morning and every night I ensure I tell Monkey that I love him.. (even if he's asleep) I can't remember life before he entered the world and screamed his lungs out led in my arms for the very first time and I most certainly can't imagine a life without him..
