Some favourite pieces of artwork I discovered through OWW:
(in no particular order)
Number 3... Four Trees by Egon Schiele (1917)
I love the colours in this piece, and the way that although everything is so stylised the trees are still in many ways really realistic. In early November last year, when I went for a walk along the river I grew up next to, I saw a little stand of trees along the footpath that looked almost exactly like this. I think what I like about it is that it uses all the stylisation to conjour up the feeling of a late autumn sunset in a way that feels really real and especially tangible.
