A simple bone found alone on the forest floor. Its host is long forgotten, itself at risk of being lost to time, until someone like me comes along. Someone who notices and appreciates the beauty of this macabre display. I couldn't leave without this tiny bone, and so I placed it gently into my pocket and took it home. I wonder about its story as I turn it over in my hand. What creature once carried it, what life it lived, how the earth cradled it in its final rest. Now, it sits upon my shelf, a quiet relic of nature's endless cycle, a small reminder that nothing is truly lost, only transformed.
