I'm still trying to figure everything out but from what I understand Tony HATED George Cukor and he was kind of a loner on set since it was like his first movie and although he liked his co-stars they sorta ignored him (which I really don't blame them tbh, Spencer Tracy and Jean Simmons were already friends before that) and I think Tony thought he did a terrible job
He hated the experience making that movie so much that he was like "Sayonara Hollywood" and ran off to New York to be in Tea and Sympathy and did some more TV shows in California before he was eventually dragged back to be in Friendly Persuasion and after that movie he was stuck there
