Here’s some stuff from one of our latest projects we just finished at Forsbergs skola. For the past six weeks I, Together with eight of my talented classmates, have worked on this game demo which we have submitted to this year’s Swedish Game Awards: http://gameawards.se/game/2016/Sayil
The competition is fierce and there’s plenty of really cool looking games competing this year so It would be a great honor to simply be nominated, and even if we aren’t, we have learned a lot individually, and together as a team we have achieved something that we are really happy about! As we look at what we have created we can all see that there’s something in it from every one of us who have worked on it, and that is really cool I think! It has been an incredibly fun and stimulating project and I can’t wait to work with these talented individuals again.
In this project my primary roles have been project manager and narrative/story writer.
You play as Sayil (which means “Liquid” in arabic), who is the last body of water in a dry, dead world. We spent about a week developing the game concept and we established a few “pillars” from which to originate from, one of them being the fact that water is vital for all forms of known life.
Some pictures and screenshots of "Santa CMYK”, a game that me and Max Hagberg made for the CMYK-themed christmas market at Forsbergs.
We made a really challenging and evil platformer where the objective was to reach the goal while crushing as few christmas-gift’s as possible on your way. The problem is that the level is completely littered with fragile christmas-gift’s that are crushed on impact and placed in the most sinister and problematic manner possible.
Players competed for a position among the top 3 best scores to win a christmas tree decoration of our player/protagonist. By the end of the event some amazing scores had been attained and we were incredibly happy to see so many people playing, laughing and having fun with our game!
(screenshot’s of gameplay + a playable browser-version of the game will be uploaded and linked here soon!)
Here's some pictures of our second boardgame. Developing this game we primarily focused on the gameplay mechanics and rules, and I am really happy with how it turned out! We didn't get much time left creating art for the game though, so there's a lot of empty frames on the playing cards, and those who have art have some rushed sketch-art on them by me.. HOWEVER, Aelia sure did a great job on those Castle-sculptures + walls! Good times!
