Rationale
Starting with the first publication which was a car Japanese culture magazine, my aim for the next project was to adapt and change my previous content into something web friendly. With the change, I’ve changed my theme to Formula Drift, which is a Professional Drifting Championship. In the making of the final outcome, the website I’ve taken the most inspiration from is Instagram’s hashtag searchers. With keyword I have chosen near the start of the project Simple, clean, pattern and documented, my aim for to make a website which embodies all of those keywords. To further develop my website, I’ve taken inspiration from Google images, Flickr, Pinterest and Instagram because I wanted my site to showcase majority Photos. The Instagram format stood out the most which made me choose it as my main grid structures. How I have changed the grid structure for Instagram to making it my own is, I add in one more row which breaks the screen into a grid structure of ¼ which gives the user a sense of balance and equilibrium, because it has always seemed strange with the 1/3 grid structure. To every Photo there is always text to it. How I have layout my text is to have the user hover over the image they want to see and then, if the photo has text attached to it, the photo will turn opaque and then the text will appear next to the Photo on the right side. By having the text hidden, it helps keep the website clean and simple till the user is ready to see the comments. Furthermore, another way the user can see the Photos better is to click on them, this will expand the image for a better viewing experience, which is also adapted for mobile screens.

Proposal: Post-Now
In the digital age, everyone uses an image search engine. For this project, I will be I’ve been inspired by Google Images search, Flickr, Pinterest and Instagram. How they all have used the hashtag system to group the content is something I may aim to produce for my final outcome. How I will be curating my content for this project is by the use of a hashtag “#formulad”. Which was created by narrowing down a section from my publication which is the motorsports side of the Japanese car scene. How this would be displayed, the images will be aligned in rows of four/three. When you would hover over the image, text will push the other images over or down to reveal the text/comments.

In a first for Formula Drift, this year’s Pro series is an eight round affair. My seventh set of photos are normally captured at ‘The House of Drift’, also known as Irwindale Speedway, but that’s not the case for 2016.
The championship race has pretty much come down to three drivers: Fredric Aasbø, Vaughn Gittin Jr., and Chris Forsberg, and with the grand finale now just around the corner, there are only a few battles left to decide the overall winner.
Matt Field is a young driver with a dedication like no other, and in Texas he took his very well deserved first win.
Luckily for the fans and staff, the usual Texas heat was not so bad this year. Having the main competition run under lights definitely helped though.
