You were currently sitting inside your last class of the day. The time seemed slower than usual and it was bumming you out.
Your boyfriend, Changbin, is celebrating his birthday today, yet ironically, you haven’t seen him at all. You had conversation over text but you really haven’t interacted with him physically. It sucked.
While looking at the clock, your fingers impatiently drummed against your desk. As soon as you heard the ringing of the bell, you shoved your things inside your bag and rushed out of the room.
You ran to the gates where you told Changbin to wait, but since it was your unlucky day, he wasn’t there. Your next plan was to call him and you did. It rang once, twice, thrice—it kept ringing but no answer.
You mentally scolded yourself, ‘Good job, Y/N. Where the heck would you find that guy?’
There your phone started ringing. Thinking it was Changbin, you answered the call without looking at the caller I.D.
“You Dark-loving boy, where are you?” You said in an annoyed tone
In hearing this, you looked at the screen to see that it was Chan calling, not Changbin. Chan is one of Changbin’s close friends and the guy who mostly stops your boyfriend in fighting.
You cleared your throat, collecting your cool before resuming to the call.
“Hey Chan, sorry, I thought you were Changbin. What’s up?” You said.
“We’re planning to surprise Changbin and we wanted to invite you. Are you down?”
“Of course I am!” You cheered, jumping on the spot like a little 4-year-old.
“Great! We’ll you in front of the fast food chain right beside Changbin’s apartment. See you!”
When he dropped the call, you wasted no time and immediately began running to the meeting place. As you were running, you remembered an important thing— you had no present to give.
Not wanting to appear without any gift, you made a quick detour in a field of flowers where Changbin would bring you to. You began picking colorful flowers to create one beautiful flower crown, a crown that you think would cutely fit Changbin.
When you were satisfied with the flowers you gathered, you arranged them while walking down the streets. With furrowed brows, you carefully made the crown, avoiding people and garbage on the street along the way.
Just as you finished your little gift, you found yourself standing in front of the restaurant Chan had told you. You see a group of boys and assumed that it was them, you approached them.
“Hey guys!” You greeted them with a smile.
They responded with a chorus of ‘hello’ and ‘hi’. You have noticed that one of the boys, Woojin, was holding a white box.
You pointed it out. “Is that the cake?”
Woojin nodded. “It’s a vanilla cake,” he added.
“Well, everything seems ready. Let’s go!”

Inside Changbin’s apartment, he was laying down on his bed while playing with the munchlax plushie you gave him before. He hasn’t seen you all day and he wanted to call you so bad but he knew you were in your class, unlike him who skipped a day again.
He felt bored playing with the plushie so he decided to grab some leftovers inside the fridge. He slowly walked towards the kitchen, almost falling once because of the stool he hadn’t seen.
Just as he was about to open the fridge, the sound of his apartment door opening stopped him. He looked at the door and saw his friends with a cake in hand.
“Happy birthday to you~” They started singing.
Changbin chuckled, “What’s all this? You guys are not the type to throw surprise parties.”
The boys laughed and playfully smudged icing on his cheeks. Changbin’s eyes wandered pass the group of boys, obviously looking for you.
“Where’s Y/N?” Changbin asked.
As soon as he asked, somebody covered his eyes. He smiled because he knew who it was, yet he pretended he didn’t know.
“Yah, who is this?” He laughed, taking the hands of his eyes and turned around.
He met your smiling face that he loved the most. Because of your contagious smile, Changbin smiled too and gave you a quick peck on the lips.
“Happy Birthday,” you greeted and placed ypur little gift on his head.
It startled Changbin at first, his hand reaching for the crown but you stopped him. “It looks cute on you,” you explained.
Changbin blushed and hid his face on the crook of your neck, making you giggle. You hear the boys whistle and tease but you couldn’t care less. Changbin mumbled a ‘thank you’ and you felt him smile against your skin.
“Okay lover birds, time for cake!” Jisung said and everyone cheered.
Changbin once again tried to remove the flower crown but your pouting face made him stop. “Don’t remove it, I worked hard to make that,” you said in a sulky tone.
“But it doesn’t really go well with my dark vibe,” he pointed out.
“It looks cute on you! Please don’t remove it.”
Changbin paused for a while, looking straight at you who clinged on his arm while staring at him with puppy eyes.
“Fine, I won’t remove it,” he said in defeat.
You both walked towards the boys who are now busy eating cake. Changbin ruffled the hair of Jeongin, making the youngest look at him with cake stuffed in his mouth. Jeongin waved Changbin off to continue eating the vanilla cake.
“Wow, eating the cake before the birthday boy?” Changbin jokingly asked.
While Changbin bickered with the boys, you grabbed a piece of cake to calm your boyfriend who has a bit of a tantrum.
“Here’s your cake, Binnie,” says you who held the plate for Changbin to grab.
The commotion died down and now all eyes were on you. You innocently blinked, not knowing why their attention was all on you. “Why are you all looking at me like that?”
“Did you just call Changbin...Binnie?” Minho surprisingly asked.
You were still clueless, “What’s wrong with Binnie?”
Hyunjin started giggling then the rest of the boys started laughing. Changbin, on the other hand, was blushing furiously and had his hands covering his face.
“Who would have thought that the ‘bad guy’ in school would wear a flower crown and be called ‘Binnie’ by his S/O?” Hyunjin said in between laughs.
“Flowers can be manly too!” Changbin fought back.
“I think it’s cute,” you replied and walked up to your embarrassed boyfriend.
“Hey Binnie,” you removed his hand from his face and placed a short kiss on his lips, “you’re really cute when you blush.”
You never thought a person could blush this hard, but there’s Changbin right in front of you, his face burning in a shade of a tomato. Changbin then went to engulf you in a hug, knocking something off in the process.
Everyone got startled when the sound of glass shattering was heard. You all looked at the broken glass and some boys gasped dramatically.
“Changbin! How can you drop the cake!?”
