Say it with me: no one has to like your character. No one has to like all your characters. It is ok for people to be interested in one of your muses and not another. It is ok for people to write with the muses they want. People should not have to write with certain characters that don’t interest them in order to write with the ones that do. People do not and should not have to like every single one of your muses, and not doing so doesn’t mean they hate OCs/females/gay muses etc.
Back when I was nonselective, I CONSTANTLY attracted disrespectful people. I’d approach others asking to RP, and 9 times out of 10 I’d get ignored. I’d write starters for people who asked me to, only for most of them to never get answered. I had people force ships on me, use me as a meme archive, and even had one complain to me that my OCs aren’t sexually appealing enough, even though I don’t write smut anyways. Hopefully now that I’m mutuals-only, I’ll start getting more respect from the RPC.
I know that people can plot things out OOC beforehand, but the reason I get so weirded out by people who jump into shipping without much interaction beforehand is because I've had several instances of people who asked to ship right away, and despite me telling them I don't ship without prior interaction and good chemistry, they still continued to push it on me. I don't think all ship-happy people do stuff like that, but since I've experienced it so many times, I can't help but be anxious.

"so hey do you wanna ship these muses of ours" no. "okay but what if-" no. "but maybe after some time-" no. "but they would be really cute together-" no means no, for fuCKs sake. Like I love you and I love being friends with you and I love writing with you, but the mutual chemistry is not there, stop pushing for it.
you know what i hate? being strung along and given breadcrumbs so i’ll feel obligated to fulfill one-sided and ooc plots for others’ personal fantasies. aka being used. yeah, that’s a really great feeling. :)))
I used to RP male characters a lot and twice I had people try and pressure into m/m ships. The first time I was about 14 and in a RP group where pretty much everyone else’s OTP was my character and another person’s and they all decided we should ship. They didn’t even ask me, they just decided it was happening and even though I didn’t ship (in fact I was very uncomfortable about the ship because of their attitudes towards one of the characters canon love interests.) I went along with it because I was to afraid of people getting mad at me. After a couple of weeks I just deleted my blog without a word and left the fandom because I couldn’t take it anymore.
The second time I was older and was the only person playing a certain minor character. I was approached by someone who wanted to ship with me, which given the character they played was canonly horrible to my muses, I really wasn’t interested. So I told them I really wasn’t that much into shipping and besides my muse was straight, neither of which were a lie, in hopes they’d drop it. They didn’t however and so finally I just had to flat out tell them ‘sorry but no I’m not shipping with you, I’ve tried to let you down gently but you wouldn’t take the hint. i’m not interested in shipping my character with someone who canonly insults and degrades him all the time.’
Up til then they’d been acting pretty friendly, but after being told no they totally dropped that and informed that i was homophobic for not wanting to ship with them and they i should have been grateful that they wanted to ship with a terrible rper like me. They then proceed to tell lies about me to all their mutuals and turn my whole dash against me so I had to leave the fandom even though I loved my muse.
Ever since then I can’t stand to RP male characters let alone m/m ships because it brings back memories of those occasions.
