Chicken fajitas are just chicken stir fry on sizzling plate with mexican seasoning!!
What made you decide to scrap the Digital Overlord, Ninja in Space, and Digiverse stuff in favor of Lloyd becoming the 'bad' Golden Master and the Overlord possessing another host instead?
good god where do i start
Digital Overlord/Digiverse Stuff <- made no sense! Like, building Borg Tower atop the spot where he was defeated and it getting possessed with the Overlord's spirit is one thing, but why and how would he be compatible with technology? How does the embodiment of all things null and void turn into a computer virus??? This cosmic entity thing??? That's been around for thousands of years?? Gets sucked up into a computer??? And THEN there's only a single episode where ~the digiverse~ actually MATTERS and the one thing they use/need it for didn't even help in the long run; just made things worse....?!?! and then you follow up all that tech and digital stuff with SPACE?!
...*throws it all out in a trash can*
I get the focus on new technology and developmental progress here, and maybe the angle is that the Overlord is just adapting to the times just like the rest of the city! But on the same hand, the Overlord still being around despite all the changes and measures taken to quell anything like him happening again is more of a sign that the past will always have its roots in the present, and no amount of newfangled gadgets can stop forces of nature. And this slightly ties into how I switched up the role of the Technoblades too
Ninja in Space <- was the result of several timeline plotholes, which if you've noticed, I've already squashed in S2, which means they no longer have a reason to go to space in the first place as the Golden Armor already exists (and is, y'know, still on the planet). I always hated this plotline and especially when it was LITERALLY the episode before Zane died. Like they literally return from space and next thing you know a Nindroid is blowing himself up and causing a nuclear winter with no proper transition whatsoever???
Lloyd becoming the 'bad' Golden Master <- because the season itself implied this to be a possibility and did not follow up on it in a way I was satisfied with!!! :V It felt like a rehash of 'oh the prophecy wasn't about Garmadon it was about the Overlord' to 'oh the Golden Master wasn't Lloyd it was the Overlord' and that's an insane "twist" to pull back to back! At least with us thinking it was Garmadon for a while there was some pretty hefty weight to it since it lasted longer than, like, ONE EPISODE-- which is like, why even make it a point of contention if there's no conflict to arise from it??? It was just gonna end up in the Overlord, get taken away, and then midway through the season he just whips up another backup plan anyway?? Okay!!!
...Moreover, the Overlord being the Golden Master would go against all the lore I've established with how all these insane powers work, and it would render him unable to wield it in the first place if he's already functioning as an opposition to that very power. Gaining it wouldn't make him more powerful; it would probably just kill him! Not that he wouldn't seek to just drain it from Lloyd still, but...well, we're getting into spoiler territory there
the Overlord possessing another host instead? <- well this is just a step towards chaining things towards Crystalized (and [REDACTED], yeah, yeah), but this scenario not only eliminates the need for the Overlord to go digital anyway (undoing a lot of weird plots in the process), but also eliminates the need for Pythor's role in things...which is another rando plot thread in the og season (and I'm still not sure if he's gonna appear this season or if I'm holding him off until S4, but in either case I don't actually 'need' him at this specific moment)
Overall: It felt like the og season was trying to do too much at once and cobble together a bunch of ideas (not unlike S6, S7, ad S10) especially for the small span of time it had, and therefore lacked a fully cohesive identity for people to latch onto (which is why you'll rarely hear anyone discuss anything about the season except the love triangle and Zane's death, because those were the only two prominent sticking points that also carried into further seasons. You get people forgetting that THIS was Pixal's debut season for crying out loud! And also not counting the Overlord stuff cuz everyone thought he really was gone this time....until Crystalized)
No, see, my aim is to use S3 to branch S2 and S4, if anything -> with the main focus being the ramifications of the Overlord's "defeat", with the group thinking they loopholed themselves out of Lloyd having to face any consequences (lmao), the gateway opening for Borg to rebuild the city anew and implement progress (something Master Chen and Ronin take advantage of in the future as well), and how the exposure of the Elemental Compass to the public causes a large ripple effect going forward.
And I specifically want time to focus on Pixal's role on things along with her sisters and even Cryptor (Cryptor fans may hate me tho lmao), on how the Nindroid Army is actually a threat (and just the perspective of Nindroids in general), on the consequences of Lloyd's powers when they don't have a natural cap, the Overlord persisting in a much more logical way, the accumulations of everyone's relationships/feelings towards each other when they're not necessarily united by a common threat, Cole and Zane's graduation and the contemplation of their futures, the detriments of relying too much on technology and the negatives of progress happening too fast, the ramifications of too many secrets being kept for too long (both lorewise and...romantically omfg....) and ofc the ultimate accumulation of Olivia's quest to 'save' the world from the Golden Master and the Overlord...
Season 3 is my playground and the possibilities are infinite...even without going to space <3
You're up in your tower pondering your orb, I'm getting my orbs pulverized in the seventh layer of tartarus by a fourteen titted succubus so that I may gain the knowledge of the ry'krdyquiun tomes. Thou wizards art not upon mine grindset.
Liturgies of the Spawned
They did not summon the warp. They invited it in.
Not with incantations, but with hunger. With flesh that remembered its own decomposition.
The vermin did not chant. They echoed. And when the echoes returned, they brought names. Names older than any daemon. Names Nurgle had left behind, sealed in the marrow of forgotten bones.
What you see here is not birth. It is recovery.
