We Grow the Spiders Big Here (closed for unknownjenmun/threevoicesasone)
Thranduil pressed his back against a tree and leaned the tiniest bit to his right, peering around the trunk. His guards were similarly hidden, and looked quite tense. To his right, huddled against a tree of his own, Feren looked downright furious. He noticed the Elvenking looking and shot him a sour look, brow furrowed and lips pressed together so tightly they were almost invisible. Thranduil knew that Feren didn’t think he should be here. Feren wasn’t wrong. As the King, it was generally a better idea of Thranduil to stay OUT of dangerous situations. But good gods, he had to get out of his halls ONCE IN A WHILE. It was just that this seemed to have been a bad choice of “while.” Spiders were all around them. He heard something -- faint rustling, difficult even for his Elven ears to hear -- and his eyes slid away from Feren’s annoyed face. Having determined that the noise had come from behind him, he turned slowly so he could get a better look around the tree, and reached for one of his swords. Whatever was coming, he was prepared to meet it.
