It would be very different from being in a Goddard lab
Basically like a huge field trip with complete novices and then you

Riding the bus out west with Dave, Al, and Jim was a trip
They were three very different people
But they all thought you were super cool

Australia was the furthest from home you'd ever been
But it was super fun

It was basically another dress rehearsal for them
You did lots of classroom time with the three astros
They had lots of questions and you tried to answer to the best of your ability
Your favorite thing to do while on the field trip was go out at night with the guys

And look at the stars up above the giant flat plain of the outback
Hard to believe that Dave, Al, and Jim would be touching another heavenly body in just a couple months

I think I discovered your blog through fo reblogs I saw from other mutuals and on my dash in general. When you started posting about BNA I wanted to watch it myself. Of course I never did until someone I used to live with showed me the first two and a half episodes 😅. Then when you posted about the Alice mobile game I got excited cause, "holyshit someone else knows this!". I think the first message I sent you was a request and a question asking what Picrew you used for your pfp at the time. Overall, you're a great mutual and I'm sorry if I don't talk to you all that much. Things have been hectic, and I don't want you thinking I've just abandoned you. I went to my first Pride and it changed my life
If my life could be described as bittersweet, today I felt so much sweet and the bitter was so much lessened. I’ve known I’m bisexual for four years but due to my living situation the opportunity only presented itself this year for me to go to Pride, specifically San Francisco Pride. Although the forums the high school GSA’s in my area hold annually shows me that there is more out there, that there are people like me who exist in the world and that some of them exist near me, I am in tears in my bedroom over how many of us there are. How many and how near. Being trapped in an unsupportive household kept me pretty shut off from the LGBT community in my neighborhood or even beyond, and although I tried to reach out in the past nothing ever really felt real, nothing felt like it could help me.
Pride changes things. The people who participate in pride, who make it what it is, are creating actual changes in people’s lives. Yeah, some of it is a corporation strategy to gain supporters, and some of it is just hypersexual people or kinksters, and some of it is groups looking to push a political or personal agenda, but I will owe anyone my life if Pride is not a force to be in awe of, something to look at and love and live in.
I feel like there is support out there, that there are people I can turn to who are like me, people who are old and young and powerful as bears who are there for me, to support me, and to make sure that I have a future where I can be who I am; without having to hide anything. A future where I can hang flags on my wall and wear rainbows to work and kiss my datemate in public and truthfully answer when my parents ask if I saw any of the parade while I was in San Francisco.
So thank you, Pride, and thank you to everyone who fights for the LGBT community, because whether you know it or not you are making a difference, and I have hope. And that, right there, hope; that is something no person should go without.
