Les hippocampes
Les hippocampes sont aussi appelĂ©s chevaux de mer. Il existe une cinquantaine d'espĂšces qui se rĂ©partissent dans les eaux tempĂ©rĂ©es et tropicales partout dans le monde. Ils mesurent, pour la plupart, de 7 a 12cm. Ce sont de jolis crĂ©atures qui malheureusement souffre de la destruction de leurs habitat et de la surpĂȘche. L'hippocampe vit agrippĂ© par sa queue prĂ©hensile Ă une algue, Il se dĂ©place par les mouvements de sa nageoire dorsale. Les hippocampes se nourrissent surtout de petits crustacĂ©s qu'ils aspirent avec leur bouche, comme avec une paille. L'hippocampe a un mode de reproduction tout Ă fait unique dans le monde animal : la femelle pond ses oeufs fĂ©condĂ©s dans une poche ventrale du mĂąle, qui portera les Ćufs jusqu'Ă leur Ă©closion.
