Book Review:

I love folklore. Especially when it involves Pagan stuff, and the Celtic peoples. I have a weakness for it. Maybe some of that has to do with a lot of this is my heritage.

The stories in this are great. There are many that I have never heard of. And the history of them are interesting as well. It’s crazy how so many similar creatures exist all across the Celtic areas (though, at the same time, not really, since everyone traveled around the UK and Ireland). There was quite a variety of them as well. So many types of creatures, and I know this book didn’t delve into all of them, because trust me, I research all this stuff. I also liked that each section was separated into areas of these countries, instead of by creatures themselves. It made me visualize everything better.

The only reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars was because there was too much info and history in it. Don’t get me wrong, that’s great and super useful when it comes to research. But for me, jumping in, I thought it was all going to be about the folklore and stories. I didn’t realize about half of this book would be history. I wish there had been more legends explored.

Overall, this book is a great addition to my collection (and I have A LOT), and I will definitely use it in the future.
