Still Life - Studio (natural Object)
Today in studio we could experiment but not forgetting about the composition, light, exposure. My natural object was mandarin. in my work I showed different photography light techniques (45 degree, rim, side, front). Also I show you how background decide about composition. My favorite image is the mandarins on a blue background. I think that the color of mandarin and the background color got nice contrast . I don't know if I did properly task, but I'm happy with today's work. Work in the studio give me change work with professional equipment and improve my techniques about light.

Post Production - The Photographers Workflow
These are my final images for Something New brief, I was torn between the soft lavender background or the iconic Sailor Moon background. Overall I am really proud of these and I am very pleased with the final outcome of the two backgrounds.

Comparison between broad sheet and tabloid
The difference is a size thing. Braid sheets are a specific size lager than a typical tabloid 749 by 597 mm
What is the style of the newspaper? Why do you think this is? The Daily Mirror vs The Guardian - The Mirror has a larger image on the front page which suggest a greater focus on the value of images. Whereas, The Guardian has less focus on the image and more text. Also, The mirror has a more harsh lighting approach int he image it’s more punch and harsh, compared to The Guardian has a more softer quality and standard to the image which suggest a finer quality to there image approach. This contradicts my earlier statement and shows more of an appreciation from the broadsheet(The Guardian).
How many images in the paper?
Daily Mirror- 169
The Guardian- 27
Are They Credited?
The Daily Mirror doesn’t Have any credits, The Guardian however, has all its images credited
Layout of the papers. Proportion of image to text.
The Daily Mirror is very image heavy with a smaller proportion to text and has a lot more image than The Guardian. The Guardian has more text than image taking up the page and only has a few images however does have a lot less paper.
Freelance or staff. Can you tell?
You can’t tell from The Daily Mirror as there are little to no credits on the images, which you could make assumptions about that fact but it would be only that. The Guardian there is lines under the image that say staff Photographer which tells you if it is or isn’t a staff photographer.
Comment on the image quality of the paper, effectiveness; does it tell a story? The Daily Mirror has a lower image quality compared to the softer more refined image quality of The Guardian. The Daily Mirror story has more of an impact just based on the image, as the image tells more of a story without a lot of text to support it but is lower quality. Whereas, The Gairdian’s image is of better quality but doesn’t give as much detail on its own without the text to support. It’s more here is the person and read the story. Compared to The Mirror which is here is the story and that’s the person also(all with the image).
Look for similar stories/events.
Both of the front page stories on the papers are the exact same story, of the Phillip Green sexual harassment case.
Where is the article I.e. Front page.
The article is the front page story. With the Daily Mirror the main story is across pg 4-7. Whereas, with The Guardian it dosnt come back up till page 11.
Who is the photographer?
The only credited photographer is in The Guardian, which is MIKE MARSLAND.
Is the photographer credited?
The only credited image is in The Guardian.
