Her journey took her first to her brother's door. Lux paused to read the embossed lettering of her brother's name, before slipping her first note underneath:

Dear Garen,

I'll be going away for a while, to Ionia. Know that I'll be okay. I just need to do some searching of my own. Maybe I'll send letters if I have the time.

I love you Garen and I'll miss you.

Lux.

She swiped a hand across her eyes and hurried away, this time making for Varus' room, where she left a note to him much like the first:

Dear Varus,

Please forgive me, but I must leave the Institute for a while. I have to figure things out. I know I'll worry you, and I'm so sorry for that. You've been like a brother to me, and you don't deserve this treatment.

I chased you once into Noxus...and now you cannot chase me, because this is a journey I'll take for myself, by myself. That alone is something I may never be able to forgive myself for. I am sorry. One day I'll be back, and perhaps then we can talk.

Ezreal next...her heart twinged painfully at her last memory of him, but she almost shoved the note under his door.

Dear Ezreal,

I don't know if you want to see me. Nevertheless you won't be able to - I'm going on a journey somewhere and will be gone for a few days. I'm hoping that time will help me - and you, if that's what you need - some time to think.

Sona now. Now that Lux was back, she had realised that the Maven had been...absent...and had acted on it. A letter was on the way to Sona's home:

Dear Sona,

I don't know if you've been out recently, but I hope this reaches you in good health. I would've contacted you at the Institute except...well, you haven't been there. I have not been myself recently, and I am leaving the Institute to find myself. I hope not to be gone too long, although I have no idea how long these journeys take.

You will always be my friend Sona, and I will miss your cheer greatly on my journey, but i feel this is necessary for myself.

Her notes done, Lux turned and hurried away down the hall, wiping her eyes. She pushed past a door - and stopped, her gaze swinging to the bright lettering.

Lee Sin. 

She stared for a long moment, her hand reaching up to brush the letters lightly with her fingers. She froze on realising her actions and hastily withdrew her hands.

She didn't have a letter for him. She hadn't known what to write, but on impulse she dug in her pockets for a pen and a scrap of paper.

Dear Lee Sin,

You brought me back, and for that I'll be forever grateful. I don't know where we stand, and for that I need time, and I need to clear my head.

You found me, but I am still lost, and I have to go find myself.

Thank you for everything Lee Sin. I hold you in my heart - I don't know how so, but know that I truly do.

There. That was as truthful as she could be. Before she could change her mind, she'd thrust the note under the door and turned to go.

The light was warm and Lux looked around herself in some sort of stupor. It had indeed been a long time since she'd been outside in the sun. She took a brief moment to tip her head back and enjoy the sun on her face, before turning back to the path, and her first destination: The Shojin Monastery of Ionia. There was transport to Ionia, but Lux wanted to walk at least partway - the longer journey would give her more time to think. In any case, she had a lot of questions to ask - but she didn't know what questions they were.

But she was here, and she was going, and that was important. Lux swallowed and looked over her shoulder for one last glimpse of the Institute. It loomed over her and she managed a brave smile. "I'll be back," she said firmly. "One day. I promise," she said, promising those words to the people she was about to leave behind. "I'll come back, and then...then I'll talk...to all of you."
