I really have the best managers ever.
Dizziness was bad again last night and I'm not allowed to call out of work again so I went on in. Perfectly fine except occasionally the room would spin and I would need to hang onto the counter for a few minutes.
But car rides make it temporarily worse and so I nearly toppled over at the beginning of my shift. In front of both the managers on duty. They were super worried, told me to tell them if I was feeling faint, or worse, or anything. I was told to take my 15 whenever I needed and not to worry about asking and they didn't get upset when I wasn't straightening up the front end during slow periods, like I usually do. M was super great at making sure I always knew where she was in case I needed her. And then they trusted me to do my job and know my limits and though they checked in periodically they weren't hovery.
Turns out they also asked my Brother, who was working at the same time, if I would be upset if they had to send me home, but he assured them I was alright and wouldn't be upset and then they didn't need to send me home anyway so it's all good.
They are great. I love them. I am so fortunate to have a job where I can be sick and they don't make assumptions that they know best about my limits. Getting treated like a capable adult is awesome.
