I achieved this! I saved my pennies and, in the summer of 2016, traveled from Canada to Providence, RI in the US to complete my training to become a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher). It was one of the best decisions and most meaningful experiences of my life! I’ve since taught close to 150 individual students, and hope to bring the joy of Zentangle to many more in the years to come.

Today was great because… after several days of massive amounts of activity and socializing - all of which I loved! - I was able to spend a relaxing day at home by myself just hanging out with the cats and doing my own thing. Now I’m refreshed and ready to get back out into the world!

My fave book. Partly because I can’t possibly narrow down all the books I’ve read to just one favourite, and partly because I’m proud of myself for seeing this project through to completion (it really wasn’t easy!), I’m going to choose my own little self-published Zentangle-Inspired Art colouring book as my fave.

I’m grateful for… opportunities to bring Zentangle to the people in my community. Today I’m preparing to teach a private “Introduction to Zentangle” class scheduled for tomorrow, and am reminded anew just how lucky I am to be entrusted with occasions such as this.

My handwriting. This is a book I’ve had since childhood, and the handwriting - or should I say the IMPRINT of the handwriting - was done by me when I was just a wee thing. I decided to share the imprint that shows up on the second page (and carries through until about the fourth!) rather than the original handwriting as proof positive that I have always pressed HARD when I write. I still do to this day, even when I’m tangling, and really have to concentrate to consciously force myself to press lightly so as not to ruin my drawing pens.

My fave hobby. Why, Zentangle, of course! (I mean, come on - what did you THINK it was going to be?! 😜)

I’m good at… being rather obsessed with Zentangle! The shading on this piece (the original) isn’t quite finished, but I saved a digital version (pre-shading) so that I could add the image to a number of products for sale, and I’m rather thrilled to say that three different people (total strangers!) from around the world have already purchased stickers and a mug featuring my humble little tangled VW van. So I suppose having this not-so-little obsession eventually pays off!
