Right before the opening, I always thought the little “cos ed - young ed” transition was a little odd and out of place. But looking more closely. You can see how the lighting is really warm, with very reddish tones and yellows.

This is Edward actually seeing his house burning down alongside Alphonse

It makes a little more sense, once the opening starts and the logo appears. And we can see the house burning from the inside
