I saw the video where your tegu wanted honey. Is it a vegetarian animal? I've been interested in getting a lizard but I'm afraid of bugs. So it would be neat if this one didn't have to eat bugs.
Not in the slightest! Most of Kaiju's diet is whole prey- she doesn't eat bugs very often, although she would have done so when she was a baby. Tegus are omnivores and need animal protein in their diet. Honey is just an occasional treat! Tegus also are really not a beginner animal and shouldn't be considered without years of reptile experience. However, if you don't like bugs, how do you feel about this face?
This is a crested gecko and they eat a powder you mix with water. They’re adorable, sweet-natured, and super easy to care for. If you’re interested in lizards and don’t wanna deal with bugs, they’re a great species to keep!
