An omegaverse au where compatible mates starts to smell each other everywhere even when the other is not close by. The person's smell is also heightened than normal compared to other people's smell, so basically it acts like some sort of radar so that the compatible mates will always find each other whenever they are afar. It stays like that until the pair is bonded, in that case they could only smell each other now once they're officially mates.

"You stink." Jack casually mentions when him and Robby were up all night reviewing their notes. And Robby couldn't decide whether to be insulted or confused about what Jack just said.
"What the fuck does that mean?"

"Jack, you're too close." Robby's face flushed cherry red and even though he was taller than Jack he felt submissively small under his gaze.
"You smell so good Mike, it's annoying."
"I'm sorry?" Robby hopes that Jack is not smelling him starting to slick up because Jack basically confessed that him and Robby were compatible mates. He's still too caught up by that idea that he didn't notice Jack had started to scent him, the male's auburn curls rubbing on the side of his neck. Robby let out a contented purr much to Jack's delight as he lets the alpha scent him.
