It’s a good question, no worries! I’ve just texted Mom to ask, and got back this:

“As of right now we have zero reports of any blood-related transmission cases & no evidence that it can be transmitted thru blood. Staff have been told to take all patients’ temperatures before they even enter the facility and extra sterilization measures are in place.”

Disclaimer: I didn’t get the novel yet, so all the weird theories I’ll be spouting now might change the moment the mailman rings the at the doorbell over the course of the next week.I’ve seen many people argue that she might have died in cryo or from the after-effects of her operation or was infected and these are all valid theories imo, because David never really explicitly says he killed her. He says he will do to Daniels what he did to her - which isn’t very conclusive. Personally, I must admit, I think he killed her. I’m not saying that he didn’t love her - I do think he did. But I think he still killed her. (I also think that he was at least very fond of Walter and…he still tried to kill him after he kissed him. And he has this weird attraction to Daniels…aaand tries to kill her. And kiss her. I kinkshame, David. I kinkshame so hard. what’s wrong with u?)In all seriousness, I think it all boils down to him being a very pragmatic asshole twat tosser person.

I think he confessed his feelings for her and she didn’t return them. Maybe he even admitted to his part in her husband’s death. (heck, I even think Elizabeth might have it in herself to forgive him for that, if he kept his mouth shut about the part where he had a pretty good time murdering him. Elizabeth knew that he was programmed to obey Weyland and if there’s one thing David is right about, she’s a kind-hearted person who deserved BETTER)Anyway, I think she rejected him and he killed her so he could at least pretend to be her grieving lover (I mean, he has a grave for her and takes care of it and he dumped the picture of her and Charlie into a filthy puddle on a spaceship while he has one of her alone on his desk) 

And with her dead, he could even dissect her and continue his work on the neomorphs. 

As you see - from her a very cynical, very pragmatic point of view, killing her was a win-win situation, because -Let’s consider for a moment what would have happened if he hadn’t killed her. 

a) She would have been angry af with him for killing the Engineers, She seems like the kind of person who might take genocide (fucking genocide David!) the right way.

b) The moment they’d have landed she would have been killed or infected as well and

c) She would have died anyway. And he couldn’t have done science on her if she’d been mauled to death.
