I heard this song today that gave me FLTF vibes. It’s called “Le Cygne” by Camille Saint-Saëns. I know FLTF hasn’t really been a focus lately (which is totally fine and I don’t mean to rush you) but I still wanted to share ☺️ -🦢
Swan anon???? 🥺🥺...I missed you! I was so worried!
I will go listen to it ASAP!
I hope to get it out soon. It's just not where I want it to be quality wise. How about a snippet?
"Why'd you stop?" You mumbled against your own skin.
"I thought you were asleep." He chuckled, raising the book back up.
“I thought you despised when I made you succumb to such dry texts?”
“I couldn’t care less about James Joyce, but when you read it--” you opened your eyes and looked up at him. “It’s much less pretentious.”
“I don’t think I've ever heard anyone call James Joyce pretentious,” he said, looking back to his book. “A hack--perhaps. A horrendous poet? Definitely.”
You laughed and let your eyes slip closed again. “Maybe it’s just that I find all long winded men pretentious?”
“I’m choosing to ignore you,” he grumbled as he turned the page and leaned forward on his crossed leg.
“Never you, my love. Never you.”
Despite his words you could hear the smile in his tone before you even saw the evidence on his face. He always joked that your ability to see past his facade of intelligence was one of the things that attracted him to you in the first place. You kept him grounded. He was Icarus and you were the beauty that kept his wings neatly trimmed so he didn’t burn himself with his own arrogance.
“Shall I continue?” he asked, and you nodded.
