We have scoured the web for the latest trends in wedding flowers for the year 2016. Take a look and be able to decide which flowers to get for your wedding day.
In accordance with Pantone’s chosen colours for 2016 - serenity and rose quartz - wedding flowers in mix of blue and pink hues are going to be big this year. Serenity is just a lovely, serene color which could appease the stress most brides feel. The tone of rose quartz looks gentle, warm, soft and romantic. Both of these muted hues are calming making them perfect for such a big and momentous day.
Flowers with rose quartz shade include Peonies, Carnations, Roses, Lisianthus, Gerberas and Camellia. Fresh blooms that could represent the serenity colour would Cornflowers, Delphiniums,Nigella, Hydrangeas, and Pansies.
The soft hues of Serenity and Rose Quartz could exert a pull on pastel shades and nude tones. Expect to see wedding flower colour motifs under the peach spectrum. Think neutral shades, lighter champagne hues, pale pink and peach.
Bouquets of peach dahlias, roses and zinnias with a succulent accent would look absolutely gorgeous. Peach garden roses and gardenias would look really sweet while a bouquet of wildflowers with peach zinnia accents would look chic. Peach and cream is also a lovely colour combination for a wedding bouquet.
More and more brides will continue to go for natural, “just-picked” look for their wedding bouquet. In the recent years, we’ve seen a lot of country garden and rustic vintage wedding themes and we bet such trend will continue. Such themes are just timeless, beautiful, romantic and oh-so-chic, no matter the season or the generation. So when it comes to 2016 wedding flowers, we’re sure to see more greens, wildflowers, and more natural looking arrangements.
Brides of today look for unique foliage to include in their bouquet. Thanks to the World Wide Web, brides are now more familiar with different floral varieties. They come to their florist armed with the name of their chosen blooms and with a photo of the floral arrangement they want. They may even have some names of the leaf varieties they prefer as well as the fillers.
The more common foliage choices are Queen Anne’s Lace, Daucus Black Knight, Flax, Raspberry greens, and Amaranth.
When choosing your wedding bouquet flowers, make sure you give consideration to the look of your wedding dress. Your bouquet will be dependent on the style, shape and design of your dress; it should not drown you or hide your gown’s silhouette.
When it comes to the floral arrangements at the reception or ceremony venue, consider your theme and your chosen wedding colour motif. Consider the season too as not all flowers will be available all year round. When consulting your florist, bring a photo of your wedding dress, your bridesmaid’s dress fabric swatch, and brochure of the ceremony/reception sites. These can help you and your florist identify the best flowers and floral arrangement for your big day.
