"i don't know, MAYBE--??" the doughman's voice raises an octave higher than intended, frustration and exhaustion making its way to the surface rather easily. expression contorts in a somber way, not unlike that of a frustrated child, which unfortunately, made too much sense.
they were supposed to be the stable one; he was the safe haven's leader! he had to look out for the other toys, to be the rock that held them up when nobody else was there. but then, who was there for doey to lean on? in the beginning, the haven was full of allies aplenty, but now... now it was just him. and with three souls swirling anxiously behind that multi-colored exterior, one could only remain strong for so long before they fell apart at the seams.
"i won't lie to you, i've lost count of the amount of times i wished for this all to be over. for an adult... for my mommy and daddy to come and take me home..." just like that, anger is replaced by sadness, another child within doey's mind taking the reins, causing the gelatinous humanoid to curl further inwards, arms wrapped around their body in a comforting manner. a wet sniff follows, wiping their face with a large hand before a soft exhale. "sorry, i'm just-- i'm glad you're here at least. it's nice to see a new face, one that gives them hope, that gives me hope too."
