Trying to make a playlist for the Lush; however, trying to incorporate the story of how it works functionally whilst capturing its more eerie qualities under a beautiful, natural facade is proving to be difficult. On top of that, having it so the songs aren't a whiplash of genres too so it could be an enjoyable playlist out of context- I keep upping the difficulty for myself. Also multitasking this with what I'm ACTUALLY supposed to be doing lmao
I'm more surprised I am getting this far with the themes with just music and no explanations! I originally took inspiration from Lukey's "Flos Strain" playlist in terms of instrumental themes, but quickly moved away from it since he seems to be focusing on the passage of time and unattended growth (just the vibes I'm getting from listening to it a few times). Lush is more about an almost symbiotic growth, memories, and the overloading of memories- if that makes sense?
I already planned out the song layout for the playlist itself in conjunction with the journal fic I have going on the side that explores the function of the Lush itself for the Realm. So that helped...
Overall, its good progress for such a random project. Its fun playing around with how instrumentals fit in with lyrical songs. Difficult, but fun.
My question is how many songs should it be? And also if anybody has song suggestions for "increasingly loud voices in your head that aren't yours" and "losing yourself to someone else" in a not romantic way- very appreciated.
A snippet of some of the songs (disordered) in the playlist I have added to get a general idea of the mood im trying to go for. That sickeningly sweet smell that makes your stomach churn, but also makes you crave it.
Did any of that make sense?
