     even maddox couldn’t deny that he had been on a downward slope. although he made sure the other would never know. giving them everything they needed to make it seem like he was normal. he’s good at hiding it, far too good and he gives himself a pat on the back. except now it’s showing. he hasn’t slept in days, there’s dark hollows replacing his once bright cerulean hues. ❝ BELIEVE me, i’m fine,❞ the words pass chapped petals as a breath, weak hands running over his face. ❝ –––––– but i'm lying, i'm so very ( f a r ) from fine❞

              yuri knows that she should at least TRY and be quiet now, the two were skipping class, and there were plenty of security guards around that would no doubt eventually sniff out the cannabis she held inside the glass bong, but the danger that came from all of this was far too entertaining. she's sure no one would miss her in math class  —  where she was SUPPOSED to be  —  considering that the senior had neglected to show up for at least a week now, so yuri carries no stress as she lays slender legs in the other woman's lap.  '  no fucking way.  '  she's laughing at the other's words, taking a hit from her bong. surely if her parents had seen yuri in her seventeen-year-old, stoner glory they would SHIT themselves, but right now she can't seem to care.  '  wait, wait, tell the story again.   '

Nervous. Drew’s palms are sweating as he tucks them in the pocket of his hoodie, pale eyes focused on the other. The fact that she seems to want to grace his lunch table more and more frequently is enough cause for alarm. Blue eyes shift to look at her, the same curious gaze on his face as usual. There’s nothing generally unfriendly about Drew; he’s the kid that jumps social circles, one that can find himself in any group and keep afloat, but the hbic status that she holds makes him utterly nervous. Before he was 15 or so, being made fun of was the norm. “Can I help you?”

           “ alright, just because i’m GRACIOUSLY letting you stay over since your place flooded or whatever doesn’t mean you can push your luck, ” he says, deftly plucking the remote from her loose grip and shooting her a pointed look. “ the only thing we watch in this household is brooklyn nine-nine and vine compilations. ”

‘ you’re here again. ’ he had gone to two functions that week, obligatory things that he didn’t really want to attend but nevertheless had to. ironically enough, despite the fact that these parties were filled to the brim with important people who did important things, he had met someone at the most recent event whom he clicked with better than any of the other businessmen and women who showed up. he wasn’t exactly sure what they did, but they were certainly not a part of the crowd that was attracted to the event. maybe that’s why vaughn had taken such a liking to them. he was happy to see them. relieved, even. ‘ i thought i wouldn’t see you again after last time. ’ the smile he sports is small, plucking a champagne flute from the tray resting atop the counter and sliding into a stool. the kitchen was by far the quietest place in gatherings like this, and he could really use that kind of quiet.

                tobias is shrugging off his jacket, tossing it to the side as he walked further into the room. he's making his disinterest clear with the look on his face, arms crossing over his chest as he looked at the other.  '  okay, i'm here. what was the big emergency that couldn't wait til it wasn't two in the morning?  '

                  the boy is tired, exhausted really, just coming home from football practice maybe an hour ago. and where it anyone else, august probably would've said NO to tutoring, but nova was pretty and really needed the help. they've been pretty casually dating, august a little reluctant to turn it into anything serious since she'd mentioned that she moved around a lot. they're sat in his bed room, basically buried in a layer of books, with the door OPEN, that's thanks to his parents, staring at the history homework.  '   it's super easy, i promise, okay?  you'll have to, like, actually study when there's a test or something, but if you've got the textbook, it's just filling in answers.  '  thankfully, his older brother had taken the same class only a few years before. he presents the hunk of paper, placing it in between the two of them.  '   pretty sure i've got the answers marked off, it's in the middle of that thing somewhere.   '
