floot
A flute is an (the only) instrument I can both play and draw. .u.
I recorded some flute tracks for a friend's band last night! It was pretty dope. I was nervous all day until I was actually in the studio and then they were so chill and laid back it helped me be chill too. When I started playing I didn't feel nervous at all really I was just focused on my sound and they Loved everything I played which is still surreal to me. I surprised myself a lot in a way too.
University really did a number on my assumptions of other musicians views (ie they would be more strict or picky about the composition or that they would say negative stuff about my playing).
Also in part of a recording you can CLEARLY hear me breathing and they were like 'WOW THAT'S SO GREAT WE CAN HEAR YOU BREATH IT SOUNDS SO AUTHENTIC! '
Meanwhile when they were saying that, I flashbacks back to college where we actively practiced breathing as quickly and quietly as possible.
I explained a bit about classical performance and they were dumbfounded. After explaining I realized how much that didn't make sense lol
Like I play a woodWIND instrument, why would we not want to hear the WIND part..?
Anyway, I think last night's semi pro recording went really well and was an enlightening experience for me.
I did two recordings of each part and we pretty much decided the first take for each was the best! Another surprise for me lol
Although I literally only play a small part in the album I'm really happy I was able to be apart of it and provide earthy flute sounds!
This is just the beginning tho! I told myself I'll be recording in 2021 no matter what, so this was a fun start!

Music in the orange world
Floof the hair for power.
I went back in and tagged my Pokemon gijinkas with character names and species names because I should. Here’s some stuff that I had uploaded to Twitter but not here because I forgot. My Twitter is pretty much a stream of consciousness mess for thoughts too short to be worth their own blog post.
Some designs are pending! Also: I’m still figuring out exactly what the setting for the gijinkas is, so nothing’s set in stone really.
