#floor decs

(First of all, the smiley face is just because I don't want to put a photo of a resident of mine up so she's a smiley face.) These pictures are on hall decorations.  The first photo is a picture of my floor last year before I did anything with it and the next three are photos of the walls after I decorated them.

A lot of times too, residents would help me decorate - without me even asking them for help.  My hall did not have floor lounges so I would sit and do work in the hallway so I could interact with residents as they walked by.  A lot of times, my residents would end up joining me and helping me, be it hallway decorations, door decs, or anything... they would offer to help a lot of times.

My hall had decorations up the whole year, like die cut rabbits (out of zebra print paper) or signs and posters and things, but it also had decorations for the season.  The first two photos are for the fall and the last is for winter.

For fall I had three residents help me put up a tree and then leaves around the tree and the rest of the floor.  I also sat and cut out pumpkins to make a pumpkin patch.  It was cute!

For winter, (my mom actually helped me before residents moved back in) I put up a snow man.  It was really heavy so sometimes it would fall down, but it was cute.  I also had snow flakes around the floor.

I really liked having different decorations because it made the floor feel lived in and more interesting.  It didn't feel like a 'dorm.'  Other floors would just have the few door decs that they were required, but I loved making different things to put up. 

It was like, "do I want to do homework or craft something to hang?  Let's craft something!"  Haha.

By the end of it all, my floor had a -lottt- of door decs, way more than the required amount, their doors were full, geese, bunnies and other animals on the walls, season wall decorations, a calendar, fliers, die cut signs (like Recycle) and probably a million other things too but I can't think of them at the moment.
