I have to give a thousand thanks to @rinidinger for doing this piece for the Guild Wars 2 Friend/Ships. She really did capture Mixxa and Flixxa together in a perfect manner. Words just can’t describe how good this piece is. Excuse me while I gush with joy.

Staggering home with Alex, not even able to use her personal pseudo-waypoint after having drained herself so much in healing Aleyanna, Adriwyn had some time to reflect. All right... Alex isn’t used to scout-type manoeuvres. At least you didn’t fuck that one up so badly that she got hurt, but... no! Enough of that while this drained! You know you’re already depressed, and that won’t help.

That line of thought just led her to seeing other bits of recent pain she’d caused. Reika’s disappointment and confusion when they didn’t seem to want her help on the mission, in particular. That dear, sweet lass... I need to stop visiting her at all. I’m no good for any of Myra’s sisters now, but her especially. Tears started to fall, but fortunately they were hidden inside her helm. Oh, gods, Myra, please don’t be dead!

Any opportunity Mixxa could wake up later was something she would exploit fully. And today was one of those days. After all, she had nothing to work on or experiment today. The only question was, what was she going to do with this free time?

Smiling, she convinced herself to get cleaned up and head out of the bedroom before Rikki had to leave for the day for her studies. To her pleasant delight, the progeny was just done saying goodbye to Flixxa.

“Hi mom, glad to see you got up.”

“I know, Rikki. I just wanted to sleep in today. All ready for today?”

“I am. I’ll see you both tonight?”

“Unless circumstances change, yes.”

“Cool. Bye mom, bye mama!”

Grinning, she waved Rikki off, before turning to Flixxa.

“And you, my love, what do you have planned today?”

“There’s a few golems to check, I’ll need to run diagnostics on the security system, and a few other things to keep security in check. And it will take me a while to ensure everything is up to spec.”

“Uh huh. Now, what would you say if I told you you couldn’t just go out just yet without a couple of cuddles and snuggles?”

“What do you mean, hey!”

The thief’s squeaks were mixed in with laughter as Mixxa moved to to lift her up, with the help of some of mist magics.

“You know you owe me for keeping me here,” Flixxa said with a grin as she moved to kiss her wife.

“I’m fully aware. And when you head out, I’ll gladly assist. But I just wanted to get a few moments of you all to myself. No bookahs, no hassles. Just the two of us, peacefully and happily side by side,” Mixxa remarked back with a smile, setting her on the bed.

“Such a caring equal partner,” Flixxa replied back as she wrapped her arms around Mixxa. “Fifteen minutes of quiet togetherness?”

It was a beautiful morning at the Refuge, and Mixxa was beaming as she set to work on the breakfast spread in front of her. For once, she could finally celebrate her wife’s birthday with no hassle whatsoever. No going out far and away, no unexpected hostiles to ruin such a wonderful day. No, today was going to be a wonderful day for herself, Flixxa, and Rikki.

Humming a quiet cheerful tune, the mistologist set about making some delectable fried eggs. While they were cooking up, she set about heating up a few slabs of bacon, with some smaller pieces for Rikki. Yes, what was being prepared was for all three members of this family, nobody was going to be left out today.

With those out of the way, Mixxa then glanced at their fruit basket. It was imperative to keep a balanced diet after all, so some grapes and orange slices were prepared to satisfy that need. And finally, there was some left over bread that would easily be turned into delicious toast with a nice strawberry jelly spread.

Everything was now prepared. After carefully placing the delectable food on three distinct plates and traying it, she made her way back into the bedroom, where she saw her lovely wife and her wonderful daughter, conversing. Grinning, she moved to the two and held out the tray.

“Happy birthday, love,” Mixxa remarked. “May this be the start of a wonderful day for you, and all of us.”

Mixxa sighed as she thumbed through yet another slate of research. The road to magister was draining her, even if she couldn’t tell from her own end. She just needed something to clear her mind. Something to null the monotony of studying. Something...fun.

And it was there that she saw it. An advert for the return of the Super Adventure Box. The last time she was there, it was with her wife, albeit at the time, they were just engaged. But now, it could be a family gathering. Her, Flixxa, and Rikki, just enjoying a nice diversion from life in Tyria. The only question was, would both of them accept the offer.

Deciding not to waste time, Mixxa pulled out her communicator, and pressed an all familiar button. Her words to her wife were simple.

Mixxa hummed as she twiddled with some settings on her latest project. To the untrained eye, it would look as if she was doing research on how to combat the latest threat. But only she knew that she was actually creating a special hologram display to honor and cherish her wife and daughter. Flixxa and Rikki had been an integral part of her life, and even though the latest conflict in the Shiverpeaks had kept her away for longer than she desired because of Priory work, she finally had some free time to let those two know how much she loved them.

“Excellent,” she remarked with a smile as she placed the finishing touches on her project. The hologram showed a flow of the three of them in a synchronized path as they moved through the space and time of the holo-projector. She would have been extremely pleased had her holo-projector unit not flashed an alert signal. A message from the Priory. She thought it over, and wondered how to respond, before smirking and shutting it off.

Mixxa smirked as she glanced around their living room. It was already starting to feel festive in their home, but it would be the first Wintersday celebrated with Rikki.

“Are the holograms ready? You and Flixxa have been at it for hours now,” Rikki complained as Mixxa set her tablet down.

“Just about, Rikki. If we get this wrong, it’s not going to be aesthetically pleasing to any of us.”

“Who are we trying to please anyways? I think the only person who’s going to come here is Nikki.”

“That, and we might be inviting our progenitors over one day for dinner so we want to look decent for them.”

Mixxa simply watched Rikki shrug at the matter, before turning her attention to her wife.

“Everything’s ready on my end. What about you?”

“All set. Had to recalibrate a troublesome ornament but it should be set,” the blonde haired asura replied. With a smile, Mixxa hit a button on her tablet as assorted holograms came to life. An exquisite Wintersday tree with all the trim, tinsel scattered about, and a couple wall clings. And Mixxa noticed everyone inside smile grandly at the display.

In a few days, it would be time to celebrate a year of being together via contract and marriage. And this time, there would be no interruptions. Just two asura enjoying the company of each other. The last time it would be the two of them before the next big step in their lives and adding to their family.
