It starts out on a Saturday when Kurt is bored out of his goddamn fucking mind. Heâs just coming down from a fever high, and heâs not not tired enough to sleep all day, but heâs definitely not feeling well enough to be up and about. Heâs too tired to read, too restless to watch a movie, so he ends up just scrolling on the internet.Â
Eventually, heâs down to clicking around on facebook, and when he skims Sebastianâs profile, he accidentally ends up poking him.Â
Itâs not like he expects anything to come of it, so when he opens his computer on Sunday morning, heâs surprised to find a notification of Sebastian poking him back. Intrigued, he clicks the poke back button, and a minute later, he gets another notification. Sebastian Smythe poked you.Â
It goes on for a couple of weeks. They donât talk about it when they meet, with their friends for coffee or at a party, but they keep it up. Sometimes it gets intense, like when Kurt is in class and he knows Sebastian is too, and theyâre both bored, and all they do is poke each other for a few minutes. It feels incredibly childish, but he canât stop, doesnât want to stop, he likes the connection they have, however shallow it is, and despite the fact that they donât talk about it.Â
One time, Kurt brings up his phone to poke Sebastian when theyâre at a cafe. Sebastian is in the middle of a conversation with Brian, but he glances at his phone when it buzzes and then at Kurt, one eyebrow raised. Kurt just shrugs and smiles, then hums at something Vanessa just said. A minute later, his own phone buzzes, and without looking, he knows itâs a responding poke from Sebastian. Itâs the first time theyâve even acknowledged the war in real life, and for a fleeting second, Kurt is worried that this is the end of it.Â
The worry was pointless. If anything, the general intensity of it goes up, with Kurt bringing his phone with him on toilet breaks at work to put in a poke or two, depending on if Sebastian is available at the moment or not.Â
It all culminates one weekend when Kurt and Rachel are having a party at the loft, and Sebastian is there, and by the end of it, heâs too drunk to get home. He passes out on the couch, and stirs awake when Kurt makes pancakes for breakfast the next day. Kurtâs phone buzzes just as he puts another pancake on the stack, and when he glances at it, he sees itâs a poke.Â
âGood morning,â he calls over to the couch, unlocking his phone and poking back.Â
âSmells good,â Sebastian replies, not lifting his eyes from his phone. Kurtâs phone vibrates in his hand.Â
âTastes good, too,â Kurt says, poking back.Â
âMhm.â
Kurt puts more batter in the pan, and then they poke each other until it burns and Kurt almost drops his phone on the floor in his haste to flip it.Â
âTheyâre done,â he says when heâs out of batter and thereâs a good looking stack of pancakes on the table. His phone buzzes again and Sebastian gets off the couch, still not tearing himself from his phone. Kurt pokes back, sits down, then watches Sebastian fumble his way to the table, while tapping away on his phone. Another buzz, and Kurt waits long enough for Sebastian to sit down before he responds.Â
âThis is insane,â he mutters, grabbing a pancake while Sebastian unlocks his phone again.Â
âYes,â Sebastian agrees, him too grabbing a pancake and drizzling syrup over it while he waits for Kurt to respond. âYou should give up.â
âGive up?â Kurt echoes, and pokes back. âYou give up.â
âPfft.â Another poke.Â
âStop it.â
âYou stop it.â
Kurt actually does. He doesnât responds, and puts away his phone for long enough to him to eat two pancakes and drink a cup of coffee. Sebastian doesnât really have much choice but to follow suit, but he does glare at both Kurt and his phone while he eats. When Kurt is done eating, he picks up his phone again, and Sebastian almost drops his fork in his haste to get his phone when it buzzes.Â
âWe should stop this,â Kurt mutters when he sips his second cup of coffee and grimaces when he realizes itâs gone cold.Â
âDo you have a better idea?â Sebastian asks, his expression challenging. Kurt looks down at his phone, looks at Sebastian, glances at the coffee, the pancakes, the whole scene. Then he puts down his phone, gets up, walks around the table, and pulls at Sebastianâs arm.Â
âI think I do,â he says, then bends down to kiss Sebastian. He tastes of coffee, syrup and hangover, and it could be a lot better, butâŠthis is good.Â

Yo since you were unsure whether it was good or not, I decided to compile my reactions in a post if you want to read itÂ
Also, go read this fic, it's Kelliot and amazing.Â
"In or out," he bites eventually, when Kurt doesnât continue. "Just close the fucking door."
I'm dying at the sass omg poor eliot baby kurtikins is turned on dont worry
--
I'm so envious, how do you even write other characters apart from the main ones in the pairing? Your rachel and santana are flawless bb
--
âCan I kiss you?â Kurt asks, watching Elliottâs eyes flutter shut as he nods.Â
I squealed so loudly help my neighbours might think i'm weird and it's all your fault
--
âCan youâoff?â Kurt asks, tugging on the pants.Â
yeah kurt me too
--
He tears himself away from the kiss and looks down, takes in the way the sheer, red fabric hugs Elliottâs hips, how it stretches over his cock, his pubic hair sticking out through the holes in the pattern.Â
I s2g i had to look away from my pc just to breathe ffs
--
âIâve been at your place a lot, lately,â is Elliottâs reply, and oh.Â
WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME WOMAN HOW IS THAT HOT AND FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME??
--
Kurt has seen bits and pieces of Elliottâs tattoos before, but he rarely goes without long sleeves, so this is the first time Kurt sees all of them.
yes tattoos im sobbing
--
He hopes there will be a mark, and heat surges in his stomach at the thought of everyone seeing that mark on Elliott, knowing that heâsâclaimed, oh god, Kurt blushes at his own thought, but he doesnât let up, just sucks harder instead.Â
CLAIMED bitch yes elliot is kurt's he's kurt's muhaha you dont know what this does to my heart dont touch me
--
the dark red lace stark against his skin.
Are you trying to kill me?
--
âYeah?â Kurt says, pressing his nails into Elliottâs ass, too. The lace dampens the effect a little, but itâs still enough for Elliott to let out a broken moan and fuck into him even harder.Â
nails yuss
--
so he puts both hands on Elliottâs back, digs his nails in, and drags them down. Itâs enough to set Elliott off, too
it's official, you are trying to kill me
--
âWhyââ Kurt starts, but stops himself, then starts again. âI mean, you donât have to tell me, but whyââ
âDo I wear them?â Elliott finishes with a smile. Kurt nods. âThey make me feel good,â Elliott says. âKeeps me on edge during the performance.â
I'm legit on the edge of my chair now, on the verge of crying.
I have like a craving for a fic or something with vulnerable, bottom!Sebastian. It's been bugging me for the past few hours. So if someone wants to write that for me, that'd be cool. I want it to be at like the beginning of their relationship, before they have the label of boyfriends, but they've been together long enough that Sebastian finally feels comfortable with it. And Kurt wants to top cause he used to with Blaine and he misses it. And I'd like for Kurt to be really caring and sweet about it because Sebastian deserves that. So yeah, I'm gonna tag some of my favourite writers but i'd be happy with anyone writing it!! :D

Summary:Â An AU in which Kurt and Sebastian never met in high school. Instead, they meet at &brave--an up-and-coming online fashion company where Kurt is the new assistant slash blogger (one day he will figure out a better title), and Sebastian is the less than pleasant tech support guy. Kurt does his best to avoid Sebastian and his rude attitude at all possible costs, but it turns out that technology is not his friend. It also turns out that Sebastian might maybe possibly be (okay, probably is) more than just an annoying coworker.
Title:Â Milestone (part of the These Distances 'verse)
Pairing:Â Kurt/SebastianÂ
Rating:Â PG. There is some mention of vomit, if that grosses you out.
Word Count:Â ~2,000 words.
Summary:Â Kurt takes Jamie to school for the first time.
Authorâs Notes:Â This is a birthday present for flipmeforward, who is lovely and was so kind about These Distances. I have no idea if this is anything like you imagined, and it was sort of rushed, so I do apologize if it's not any good. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, THOUGH! (I know it's tomorrow. But I might not have time to post tomorrow.)
Anyway. This takes place about six months after the end of These Distances. If you haven't read that, this probably won't make a lot of sense.Â

âItâs probably food poisoning.â
âItâs not food poisoning,â Sebastian snaps at Kurt, though he is starting to doubt it himself after puking for the third time in an hour. âYou sound like a broken record. Itâs probably just a stomach virus.â
âThis is only the second time Iâve said it.â Kurt rolls his eyes, but keeps rubbing Sebastianâs back for comfort. Theyâre in the master bathroom at Sebastianâs house early on a Tuesday morning, Sebastian kneeling in front of the toilet and Kurt at his side. The last time Kurt brought up the idea of food poisoning was the night before, when Sebastian had started feeling sick fairly quickly after eating dinner at a restaurant with Kurt and Jamie. Kurt still thinks his hypothesis is a good one. Sebastian usually catches viruses from Jamie, who hasnât been sick recently, and at the restaurant last night, Sebastianâs the only one who had chicken.
Sebastian groans and reaches up to flush the toilet. âI feel like Iâm dying.â
Kurt frowns. âAre you sure you donât want to go to the ER? Just to make sure itâs nothing serious?â
âMaybe if Iâm still puking this afternoon,â Sebastian says, resting his head against the toiletâs rim. Kurt scrunches up his face in disgust.
âYou canât possibly have much left inside of you. I should get you some water, actually, so you donât get too dehydrated. Iâll be back in a minute, okay?â
Sebastianâs response is a pathetic little grunt. Kurt gives him a gentle pat on the shoulder as he stands up and exits the bathroom, planning to go into the kitchen and grab a glass. He doesnât even make it out of Sebastianâs bedroom, though, because Jamie is in the doorway, pajama-clad with messy hair, looking concerned.
âDaddyâs sick?â he asks when Kurt comes into view.
âYeah, heâs not feeling very well. Iâm going to get him some water.â
âOh.â Jamieâs quiet for a moment. âHe needs the bucket.â
âThatâs probably a good idea, too,â Kurt agrees. âWant to help me?â
âOkay.â
The two of them head downstairs together to get the supplies, and Kurtâs a little worried that Jamie will question him about what heâs doing there on a Tuesday morning. Heâs not usually there on Tuesdays. Thereâs a schedule for his overnight visits, and Monday nights arenât on it. The schedule isnât set in stone, but usually Jamie is informed of any changes. Kurtâs only been living in LA for about six months, and he and Sebastian are trying to move slow, and two overnights a week is usually all theyâll allow. Kurt had only stayed over the night before because Sebastian clearly hadnât been feeling well, and Kurt felt bad leaving him alone. Jamie was already in bed by the time Kurt decided to stay, so they hadnât been able to inform him. The four-year-old doesnât seem too concerned about Kurtâs unexpected presence, though. Jamie and Kurt are used to each other now, after spending so much time together, but Kurt isnât used to having any real authority. Sebastian is always around..
âHow about you go play for a little while, and Iâll check on your dad?â Kurt asks once heâs grabbed a bottle of water and Jamieâs helped him to find a bucket. âYou feel okay, right? Your stomach doesnât hurt?â
Jamie shakes his head. âIâm hungry.â Thereâs a challenge in his voice, like he doesnât think thereâs any way Kurt will be able to fix this problem.
âOh. Um, right.â Kurt looks around the kitchen, trying to remember what heâs seen Jamie have for breakfast. Heâs determined not to screw this up. âWhy donât you sit down, and Iâll get you... a banana?â
âAnd cereal,â Jamie says, climbing into one of the kitchen chairs.
âAnd cereal,â agrees Kurt, putting down the water and the bucket so he can get the food for Jamie. âAnd when youâre done, you can go play? Um, stay inside the house, though. If you need something, let me know.â
When Jamie agrees, Kurt goes back upstairs to find Sebastian back in bed, lying on top of the covers. âHere,â Kurt says, handing him the water bottle. âDrink it slowly. I brought a bucket, too. Jamieâs suggestion.â
âSmart kid,â Sebastian says, groaning a bit as he pulls himself into a sitting position. âHe has school today.â
âYouâre not taking him.â
âClearly.â Sebastian takes a small sip of water. âI can call Vanessa and see if she can take him. I donât know what sheâs doing, though, she wasnât supposed to watch Jamie at all this week since Iâm not working.â
âI could take him,â Kurt suggests. âI mean... his teachers have met me before, so that would be okay, right?â
âYeah, youâre on the list of people who can pick him up. Itâs not a big deal, though. He can miss a day of preschool.â
âAnd sit here while you puke all day?â
Sebastian frowns. âGood point. But he gets out of school at one, so I should probably call Vanessa anyway.â
âI can watch him,â Kurt says, even though the idea is a little intimidating. Just giving the kid breakfast without Sebastianâs guidance had left him feeling a bit flustered.
âYou had stuff to do today, though.â
âItâs nothing that canât wait.â Kurtâs been working on setting up as an independent wedding planner, and he even has his first client, but the wedding is still six weeks away, and he had no specific appointments today, just a few general things heâd hoped to take care of. âI donât mind taking him to school and staying here today.â
Sebastian starts to reply, but before he can get any words out, heâs grabbing for the bucket Kurt brought in.
âIâll call the school and let them know youâll be the one dropping him off today,â Sebastian says after heâs done vomiting.
Kurt pats his shoulder. âGood idea.â

Itâs silly for Kurt to be so nervous, he knows that. Jamie knows him pretty well, and is about as likely to listen to Kurt as he is to listen to Sebastian. Theyâve spent tons of time together since Kurt moved to LA, and getting the boy ready for school and giving him a ride shouldnât be a big deal. Kurtâs not used to giving orders to Jamie without Sebastianâs prompting, though.
Jamieâs clearly a bit wary of the whole situation, even after Sebastian explains to him that Kurt is going to get him ready and take him to school. The boy is obedient enough, though, letting Kurt supervise him as he cleans up and gets dressed. By the time theyâre ready to leave, Sebastian is asleep, which helps ease Kurtâs worries a bit. If heâs sleeping, he canât feel as bad as he had when the pain woke him up earlier this morning. Sebastian needs sleep, after hardly getting any the night before, so Kurt doesnât let Jamie wake him up before they leave. He scrawls a quick note and leaves it on the nightstand, just in case Sebastian wakes up confused, and then he takes Sebastianâs keys before heading outside with Jamie.
Itâs a mostly uneventful ride to the preschool, though Jamie has a few questions about whether or not Kurt is allowed to drive his daddyâs car. Driving the four-year-old around is a little more nerve-wracking than Kurt would like to admit. Heâs never driven Jamie anywhere before, and though heâs driven Sebastianâs car a few times, heâs still not entirely comfortable behind the wheel. Heâs gotten used to driving again since leaving New York, but he doesnât like the pressure of having the life of someone elseâs child in his hands. Itâs a relief when he pulls into the parking lot and theyâre both still in one piece.
âHey, you need to hold someoneâs hand in the parking lot!â Kurt calls as soon as Jamie is freed from his booster seat and starts to run toward the building. Heâs surprised by how stern his voice sounds, but there are cars driving around, and Jamie wasnât even looking. Itâs not like itâs a rule Jamie doesnât know. Thankfully, he stops in his tracks and holds out his hand, waiting for Kurt to catch up.
Kurt has only been here a few times with Sebastian, and has only gone inside once, a few months ago, so heâs glad to have Jamie tugging him in the right direction once they get inside of the building. The large, open classroom is familiar to Kurt once theyâre inside, and one of the teachers Kurt remembers greets them soon after they enter.
âHi, Jamie,â she says warmly.
âHi, Miss Lucy.â
âAnd the famous Kurt, itâs nice to see you again,â she says, turning to him. âWe met a few months ago, right? Sebastian called and said youâd be giving Jamie a ride today.â
âIâm famous?â Kurt asks
Lucy smiles. âOh, Jamie talks about you all the time.â
âOh.â Kurt can feel his cheeks turning pink. âHopefully in a nice way?â
âWe have to be nice,â Jamie tells him. âItâs the rules.â
Kurt laughs. âGood to know.â
âHeâs very nice, I assure you,â Lucy says. âSo Sebastianâs sick, huh?â
âYeah, heâs feeling a bit under the weather. I think itâs probably food poisoning.â
âDaddy threw up everywhere,â Jamie adds. âIt was yucky.â
Lucy looks amused. âWell, thatâs too bad. Tell him I hope he feels better soon.â
âOkay.â A woman with a young boy walks into the classroom then, and Lucy greets them. Jamie turns away from them to greet the boy excitedly.
âIâm gonna go play with Nick,â Jamie tells Kurt, stepping forward to wrap his arms around Kurtâs waist for a quick hug. âBye!â
Kurtâs a bit startled when he replies, saying goodbye and telling Jamie heâll be back at one. It wasnât a very affectionate hug, and Kurt hadnât been able to reciprocate, since he wasnât kneeling at Jamieâs level when it happened, but it still brings a smile to Kurtâs face. Theyâve hugged before, many times, but never casually, never when they would only be separated for a few hours. Never without Kurt or Sebastian asking him to.
Itâs difficult, but Kurt manages to keep his enthusiasm in check until heâs said goodbye to Lucy and started walking back out to Sebastianâs car. Jamie had hugged him like it was something they did all the time, like Kurt was Sebastian or Vanessa or Rob. Six months ago, something like this might have scared Kurt, made him think they were moving too fast and involving Jamie too much, but living in Los Angeles has only strengthened Kurtâs belief that this relationship is going to last. Heâs still nervous around Jamie sometimes, worried that heâll make a mistake every time they tread new ground in their relationship, but theyâve made a lot of progress in the past six months, and Kurt knows theyâll continue to grow together until they feel like a family. This is a new milestone. This morning was a test, and the hug means that he passed.
As he leaves the building, Kurtâs phone buzzes with a text from Sebastian, apologizing for falling asleep earlier and proudly declaring that he has been vomit-free for an hour and a half.
Kurt to Sebastian: And I got Jamie to school in one piece. Victory all around!
Sebastian to Kurt: Hallelujah!
Kurt to Sebastian: And donât worry about sleeping, you should if you can. Are you feeling any better?
Sebastian to Kurt: I do feel a little less like Iâm going to die, yes.
Kurt to Sebastian: Good! Iâm about to leave, so Iâll see in you in a little while.
Sebastian to Kurt: <3
The last message makes Kurtâs grin grow even wider as he gets into the car. He may be 30 years old, but Sebastian still makes him feel giddy as a teenager sometimes. His teenage self would not have reveled in the tasks ahead of him for today, though. Heâs going to clean up vomit and take care of his sick boyfriend, and his afternoon and evening will be spent watching Jamie and worrying about every decision he makes while in charge. The morning has been long and stressful already, and things probably wonât get any easier as the day progresses, but for now, Kurtâs smile isnât fading. Thereâs nowhere else he would rather be.
