Today, I thought our plane was going down fir literally a split second. We were flying into LAX, hadn't even started our decent. The other flight attendant and I were in the back galley putting the beverage cart away, when we hit some moderate turbulence. No big deal. We kept talking and putting things away while bracing ourselves. Seconds later, the left side of the plane DROPS. We loose altitude and her and I go flying.
I grabbed onto the galley wall and couldn't help but scream "OH MY GOD!" I flailed my arms to catch myself (thank god I didn't fall) and ended up hurting my wrist and possibly spraining my thumb. The other flight attendant fell backwards, hitting her back on the jumpseat, than flinging forward, hitting her shoulder.
I've never been so scared on a plane. All you hear is a PA from the captain saying "FLIGHTS ATTENDANTS BE SEATED IMMEDIATELY!" We jump into the jumpseats and try to multitask and stow our cart. Luckily the turbulence smoothed out but we were so shook up. I couldn't stop shaking until we finally got to the hotel (luckily that happen on our last flight).
I'm still shook and am nervous to fly tomorrow. For that brief moment, I thought we were going to plummet into Los Angeles.
