real. honestly the amount of effort it would take to successfully fake it isto the point where its just like. you might as well actually go to the moon.

like building the set, special effects, getting actors, crew, etc all that is gonna be TONS of time/money/effort already. but then the other part is it would need A LOT of people to get pulled off successfully, so the amount of security it would need to keep people from talking is an additional factor. like there would be at least hundreds of people Directly involved, and thousands more tangentially involved via relations, etc. thats a lot of people to keep quiet, which would be hard to do via compartmentalization bc its pretty hard to keep people completely unaware of the fact that theyre faking a damn moon landing.

so bc of all that, its very hard to believe that No One would come forward, ESPECIALLY given how yknow. this was the space race era, there would be some Serious incentives to rat out the US space program and essentially make a fool of the US on an international scale.

of course, most ‘moon landing was faked’ theories have their own reasons why theyd go to all that effort to fake the moon landing instead of just. actually going to the moon. like bc there were aliens already on the moon, or bc the sky is a dome, or bc the moon is a hologram, or whatever, but all of those involve accepting a lot of really wild and overall unsupported claims so
