She is lost.
No matter the familiarity of her surroundings, or the comfort of a place she could almost call home, Ysayle yet wanders. There is none of the expected fulfillment settling within her chest -- the iron weight on her shoulders has not been lifted.
For so long, she sought to expose the treachery that rang the first note of the Dragonsong War. For so long, she stood as Lady Iceheart, steeling her heart and her mind against what was necessary for the sake of a world of peace and understanding.
Is that not the future proposed by Ser Aymeric? she thinks, berating herself for the dissatisfaction clawing at her core. Ishgard is moving forward , and she knows that, but -- where does that leave her, now? The truth is alight and held aloft, so what more does she fight for? (What more can she fight for?)
She leans against a fragment of the civilization from so long ago, a reminder of the time when dragons and man could coexist, and closes her eyes. Shiva is nothing more than a shadow of a being. The need for Lady Iceheart has dwindled. So, now, the question is --
-- who is Ysayle?
