Spike was popular bc he was the "pained white bad boy" that every white girl gets wet when thinking about redeeming... Like literally the whole criticism of "you need to have a partner not a child" 100% applies to Spike/Buffy and I HATED it with my whole heart. I never understood why people shipped that Wallmart bull when Bangel was Prada and Faith/Buffy was the fucking Luis Vuitton of ships.
