Pigeon was someone who was quiet. So quiet in fact that he could wander all around the base and no one would be able to spot him. However, one thing the Resistance as a whole learned early on is that you should avoid surprising Zero if you want your throat to be non-crushed.
Pigeon still rubs his neck whenever Zeroâs around.

He is bouncing, and the young robot is almost emitting bell sounds. Grabby hands galore, heâll never learn to grow up will he?

Giro shot up from his bed, clutching his chest. He was heaving unsteady breaths that wouldnât let up. Was he breathing before? He couldnât calm down. It happened again. He knew it would happen, he knew this would happen! Why didnât he say anything?! Zero would understand, wouldnât it? It wasnât an excuse! If he had just said something he wouldnât be feeling like...! ... This.
He got up from the mattress and headed toward the tea maker, movements sporadic and rushed. He couldnât think, he couldnât feel. He was sorry. He was so sorry that he wasnât strong enough. It happened years ago but he was feeling like this. Why did he feel like this?
He couldnât see either. His glasses left on top of the cabinet, but he found and nearly smashed in the button to start to heat up the water. It beeped twice and started to whir to life. The only sound present in the dead silence of the too-early morning next to Giroâs heaving. He leaned his palms on the cabinet top but he didnât calm down. His breathing lowered in volume but didnât lower in intensity.
He began to sink to the floor, keeping his hands locked to the edge of the cabinet. His legs were weak and he leaned his head against the side of the cabinet, making a muffled âthumpâ. It wouldâve hurt if he could feel it, but his palms were pressing hard into the metallic edge. If he kept that up, he might break something.
Couldnât the water heat up any faster?
